Reset or ok to just raise?

I have upped my calories to 1650 (suggested from scooby) and was just wondering if I should do a reset or just stick to what I have. I ate pretty haphazardly for most of November and December, even before then I'm sure, and for the first week of Jan tried limiting calories to 1300. Ended up being aroung 1450 average, then the next week was nearly 1600 average. Since alst week I've gained a lb, but I'm sure some of that is water weight with adding strength, and having a little (lot) too much sodium. So my question is how do I know if I should reset and for how long, or if I should just keep on keeping on? Also, I'm doing an average of 3.5 plus typical daily housework and taking care of the kids, so should I choose moderate or light activity on Scooby? I've tried to use the spreadsheet but got frustrated and felt entirely stupid. I like to try to keep it simple.

If you are just doing housework etc. I would consider it light activity personally. BUT if you throw some weight lifting in there or other cardio then I would do moderate.0

For now 2 hours of that time is weights at home with body weight or 8lb dumbells. An hour and a half a week is running.0

I would start with moderate activity and eat your cals based from that.. give that a good few weeks and see what happens.. then go from there.
I dont think you would need a reset per say. Resets are more for people who have been eating at a VLCD for a very long period of time.. since you just started tracking cals, its unlikely you would have been starving yourself with low cal diets..But you never know... Id say go with moderate since that gives you a higher calorie level, and then adjust as needed.

Thanks so much! The first week I gained a pound, and now I've lost it again, so I'll keep on doing what I'm doing and see how it progresses. I will say as sold as I was that this is the right thing for my body, I couldn't help but be concerned and pessimistic, but you know what? In deciding to eat more I feel like a weight was lifted off my shoulders (maybe that pound I lost? LOL) and I feel happier and a bit more energetic. I'm not having to obsess over food so much. I've finally gotten my calories figured I think, so now I gotta work on my macro's and sodium. Thanks for the help!0
