cardio and strength training

I do 4 days of strength and 3 days of cardio a week, so obviously some days will over lap. When they do and I have to do both in one day, I usually run and do upper body exercises, so my question is does it matter the order I do them in? Should I run first then do strength? Or the other way around? Should I space them out so they aren't done at the same time of day?

I like to do my weight lifting before cardio, that way I am not drenched while lifting weights.. You keep them different body areas when you do that so it should be ok on the same day. Just make sure you eat enough and try not to do 40+ minutes of cardio.

My New Rules of Lifting books say after the weight lifting. They also say to keep it to a minimum. 30 minutes.

Does NROL require a lot of weights and gear or gym membership? I've been wanting to check it out, but for the foreseeable future I'm stuck in my living room with a yoga mat, dumbells and body weight. Just don't want to buy it and find that most of it is inapplicable to my situation.

I'm using You Are Your Own Gym since it is really difficult for me to find time to get to a gym with two toddlers. I've done lots of lifting with free weights in the past and am happy with the workouts and results from YAYOG. Worth checking out.

OMG this book looks like what I need-I am currently reading the new rules of lifting for women and all I can see is $$$ about how ill have to buy more weights and equiptment, how far along are you into this book-I searched my local book store and found 2 versions, one with a big buff dude on the front and a ladies version? which do you recommend and are they doable in smaller spaces?

currently I run outdoors and do Turbofire (cardio kickboxing kinda stuff) in my bedroom-its the master suite so its biggesh enough for that and our bed, planking and some floor work.

I have the regular version of the book. I think the lady's version came out a couple of weeks ago and is basically the same program, just pinkified. There is also an app for iOs/Android that makes it so much easier to do. It has videos of all the exercises and the workouts programmed in. Best $3 we could have spent.

You don't need much space. I actually do some of the workouts in our tiny 5x8 foot bathroom! I did the first two weeks before the new year, but then the husband decided he wanted to do it too, so I restarted. Just finished up week 3 and have dropped a few inches so far.

I suggest doing strength training first then cardio when you are doing them the same day. When you do cardio first, you might get tired after and lose proper form for strength training which can hurt yourself.
