Hey everyone mu DH and I have been TTC for 6 months now. I am starting to worry. We are both healthy and 25 years old! It shouldn't take too long! We did some testing ( I had my ovaries checked and an hsg both turned out normal) and he just had a SA yesterday, so we will get the results Tuesday. I would love to hear your stories and maybe we can give advice to each other!! Baby dust to all you ladies!!

I'm not sure what your dieting/weight loss/eating background is like, but I thought I might share my story in case it helps. I lost about 10 pounds in a relatively short period of time right before TTC baby #2. Although I was not underweight according to my BMI, the weight loss disrupted my cycles - - they became really long and I don't think I was ovulating. We TTC for several months and then I began eating slightly above my maintenance calorie estimate. I slowly gained about 5 pounds back and was pregnant within a few months. So I guess my body didn't want to procreate if it thought I was starving...go figure
Again, I'm not sure if your situation is at all similar, but I thought I'd throw it out there if it might help you or somebody else!0 -

Nope - I am 5 weeks and 3 days today, but I understand that TTC sometimes is very tricky. Mine was VERY unexpected as we had JUST started TTC during the Christmas holiday and was not expecting it to happen so soon. My mom gave me the advice of 'when it's least expected' - she compared it to watching water boil.
But all the same, I like to encourage!0 -
My husband and I tried to conceive for several years before we got pregnant. It finally worked when I decided to treat my body as if I'm already pregnant - no more coffee, no sushi, no advil, etc. Most women do not need to give up everything before they get pregnant but I felt like I tried everything and decided this was a last resort for me. It worked. I am 38 though. I don't think I would have worried with only 6 months of trying at 25. Don't they say to try for a year before going to a doctor if you're under 35?0

My best advice to you hun is the second you become frustrated with TTC ask your doctor to refer you to a fertility clinic.
From experience I can tell you it can take a long time to get pregnant, there can be more complications so it's better to investigate.
I had to wait 3 months to get into my clinic after my refferal, from there there's the investigation cycle, then the natural cycle, then the tests, then they gradually work their way up with treatment options pending on what they find out.
All the while I was on MFP and lost 24lbs! Definetly helped!
I ended up have one blocked tube, ovarian cysts, needing thyroid medication and taking an oral medication to help produce eggs and a shot to help me ovulate on time.
In a nutshell, don't give up but don't be afraid to ask for help!
There's a TTC group on here you should source out too.
Best of Luck!0 -
Hey hon!
Most docs will not send you for infertility treatment until you've been trying for at least a year.
Definitely pickup an ovulation kit and start testing. There are also fertility-friendly lubricants that will not hinder sperm that you might want to get.
My husband and I tried for a long time (well over a year) to get pregnant, and it was actually at the appointment to do fertility testing and my annual exam that I found out I was pregnant.
Be patient and keep trying. Have fun with it and try to relax as much as you can!0 -
I echo a lot of what's been said on here about being young and healthy, so a fertility specialist likely won't see you until you've been TTC for at least a year (sorry, I know that's not comforting). The lubricant that P-Rex is talking about is called Pre-Seed (though I'm sure there are others as well), and I second her suggestion to start using an ovulation kit.
My suggestion, besides checking out the TTC board/group on MFP, is to go to twoweekwait.com. When I was trying to "read the signs" and figure out if I was pregnant before I could test, it was a pretty good resource. There's a lot of information on there about helpful ideas, techniques, and products for those who are TTC under many different sets of circumstances.
Edited because I accidentally submitted before I got to say best wishes to you!0 -
My doctor said it usually takes 8-12 months, just keep trying Plus you already had those tests come back with good info!0

It took us 6 months of really trying. What made it "stick" the last month was I started to take Oil of Evening Primrose supplements and I got pregnant THAT month. The supplement helps thicken the cervical mucus, which increases the sperm motility.
You do need to make sure you know when you are ovulating before you take it though. Only take it in the first half of your cycle because it can cause the uterus to contract.
It will happen when you least expect it, as well. Good luck and baby dust!!0
