Cardio vs Weight Training to lose pounds??

Hi, I started JMBR 7 weeks ago. I just completed workout 7 and it was definitely hard! I have only lost 1 pound so far, but the inches lost has been great... Like so many on this board, it would be nice to see the scale move. I too have been tracking my calories between 1200-1400. I would like to lose 50 pounds. I know I need to be patient, but a friend of mine told me that she never lost weight strength training. When she started to do cardio only (5 days a week) she melted off 40 pounds. Any thoughts??

I've roughly lost a pound a week doing JMBR, but I'm eating more than 1200 calories a day. I'm just starting Week 10 and I'm down 9 pounds. I think a combination of both cardio and lifting is the best for aesthetic purposes, but I say do whatever works for you. I feel like I lose more when I'm doing a combination of both not just one or the other.0
