Blenders

Hi Guys,
I've been trying to research the best blenders for green smoothies etc but most recommendations seem to be for American products.
At this point in time I can't afford a Vitamix and am looking at spending under $300.
What blender do you guys use? Or what would you recommend? Any help would be much appreciated.

My son bought me a blender for Xmas...I wanted a stick blender, the ones they use on Masterchef, but he bought me a proper stand up on the kitchen bench type. It's a 'Sunbeam Multiblender'. It works really well, as long as you have some liquid in with whatever you're blending, eg ice.0

I just bought mine from Kmart (their brand), I think it was around $25 - I didnt know how often I would use it.
Its been really good, Ive had it for about 8mths and use it about 5 times a week. I havent had any problems with it - it can be a little noisy at times (not sure if the more expensive ones are quieter).0 -
I got a KitchenAid and love it.0
