Going for 8 straight hours at 55% max HR on the elliptical/treadmill. Only stopping for restroom and to refill liquid. Gonna bust 6000 calories.

Okay really nervous to do this because I just started getting into a routine. I REALLY need to prove to myself that I can do this though. I've never done more than 30 min on the elliptical at a time. I've done 30 min and then go do 30 min on the bike.. I think it's a mental block honestly. February 2nd I'm going to try to double that and do an hour on the elliptical. EEEK!!!! (btw, you're a good kind of crazy going 8 hours straight! I want to be like you when I grow up!)

    LOVE this idea btw!

I know EXACTLY what you are talking about. I was right where you are. Not only the elliptical, but any type of exercise, became a struggle after I reached my common limit. Swim five laps, done. Etc. Pushing yourself like this is wonderful! Congrats.

I have my bike on a trainer so I will be doing one of my longer cycling workouts. Since I just started here, it won't take a lot of calories to break my record, but I'm hoping to break a 1000.

Just had a thought (you know how difficult that can be). Is anybody else using endomondo? We can send messages on it to each other during the day.

    congrats and good job.

I did 19.38 miles on the trainer for 1015 calories. Actually a little short of what I planned, but I was wearing new cycling bib shorts which are not as cush as my old ones. The bits complained.

I completed my hour on the elliptical!!! I hit a block at 30 min and then again at 45 but just kept pushing and eventually was good. I honestly don't think I've ever pushed myself to that limit physically, because at the end I was WORN OUT. I usually have a little kick in my step by the end of my workouts and feel all energized - this one I was feeling good but noodly.
