    Amazing.. just amazing.

I get all teary-eyed when these things happen. Since diagnosed with diabetes, I think of all of you as my family. :)

Congratulations! Did you get any instructions from your doctor on how to maintain? When I was taken off meds, mine told me to keep my morning BG consistently below 130 and under 160 2 hours post dinner. I have been successful with the post dinner (always below 125), but have been having dawn phenomenon several times this week, this morning 134 (up from 101 after dinner).

Fantastic, fantactic news. Good for you! I'll be routing for you!

CRoddy, regarding your dawn phenomenon, is your dinner more than 2 hours before bed? If so, perhaps a small evening snack? I was asked to do this when I had gestational diabetes and did, and it helped. I do it now with type II and I don't get as many morning highs. I was recommended to keep the carbs in that snack at or below 15.

Jessie, My dinner is usually 4-5 hours before bed time. I’ve tried an ounce of cheese one night and an ounce of salami another, and that didn’t help. I read that eating a Granny Smith apple or nuts may help, so I may try some walnuts tonight, 4 carbs to the ounce. I try to keep my total carbs at 25 grams. Thank you.

Well, the walnuts only gave me heartburn. I was 115 last night and 136 this morning.

congratulations, with regard to your morning highs, have you tried excercising after your evening meal before bed? I have found that this is the only thing that has got my morning readings down as they were always my worst ones x
