Lying Leg Curls

Anyone have a sub for lying leg girls? The machine at the gym hurts my knee (previous injury) so bad no matter how I adjust it, so I've been skipping it. I haven't done lying leg curls in years because of it.

EDIT: Sitting leg curls (on the machine) hurt as well.

I googled alternatives for lying leg curls (My gym doesn't have the machine) and Single Leg dead lifts is a good one to use! Or if your gym has the straps that can go around your ankle you can try standing leg curl! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YaWg6_34uQs

Also maybe Romanian Deadlifts for the seated curls.

You can also get on your hands and knees and hook/place a weight in the crook of your knee and raise your foot up towards the ceiling. You can't go as heavy with that but it will still work your hamstring.
  • Thanks!

My gym doesn't have the machine, either, so I hold a dumbbell between my feet, lay on the floor and do it. But if you have a knee injury, I don't know if that would help of hinder you.

I also use the seated leg curl machine, but I see in later workouts that she requires both in one day.
  • I was going to suggest standing leg curl as well. Just don't lift to heavy either if you are having knee problems. I have them as well and have had surgery on one of my knees. I never can get all the way down on my lunges because it hurts too much. But just try to do the best I can.
