Hey, wondered if any of y'all have read the Earth's Children series by Jean Auel ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Earth's_Children )
Other than the monotonous sex scenes and going into WAY too much detail about landscapes, they're a pretty good picture of the time frame we're basing our diet on.
Also, if anyone can recommend other Paleo-fiction, I'd love some more reading ideas!

Yes! I've read them all. Starts with Clan of the Cave Bear. The Valley of Horses was my favorite.0

I've read them all and I loved the first few books loads. Yes Valley of the horses is my fav too. I re-read them all last year as there were a couple I hadn't read first time around. Just don't bother with the last book - it is soooooooooooooo dull. Nothing happens. I mean NOTHING. And is is huge. I forced my way through it as I hate to start a book and not finish is but I very nearly didn't make it to the end.0
