Hi all, I need some advise. Since being with myfitnesspal I have realised that my highest calorie intake is in the morning consisting of coffee, peanut butter toast and cornflakes which equals to 552cal. Can anyone help me to reduce this with other alternative low cal breakfast? Thanx:smile:

    hi Liz

That should be super easy. :) It's the combination of the toast and the cornflakes that does it. A lot of carbs, and I bet you are hungry again two hours later!

    My suggestion:

    1. Keep the coffee - ditch any sugar and if you have milk go with low fat.
    2. Have a protein. My choice is egg (fried, scrambled or hard boiled.) - Only the egg. Dont add milk or cheese or anything else. Also a piece of salmon in the morning - deliciious and so good protein rich in Omega 3. Maybe a little pricey for every day - but once in a while treat is delicious.
    3. If you must have a carb, have a rice cake with it. (Vital do a great range of brown rice rice cakes.)

It is surprising how long this will keep you filled - and the calorie count is normally not much more than 200-300.

    Good luck!!

    Thanx vogonite!

You're right I do get hungry, also life's so hard without sugar :( What's your take on coffee with some sweetener then?
Fish in the morning = bad morning breath me thinks!
Haven't had rice cakes before so will go out n try some :)

Thanx again for the suggestions. You're a star! *

    hi Liz

    1. If you have to have your coffee sweet - I guess non fat or fat free sweetener is OK. I would try hard to slowly wean myself off the sugar taste though. It helps a lot with other things (like sweets and chocolates... - then the fruit will also taste super sweet!)
    2. hehe - as to the fish, I would certainly only brush my teeth 'after' breakfast. That should take care of the strange breath - and washing it down with some tea or coffee or something.
    3. A lot of people dont like rice cakes (Saying they taste like cardboard) - but with the right topping, they can be quite good!

    Good LUCK!
