calcium supplements

I am new to this group as am only in to week 2 of following the Paleo diet.
Feeling really good actually, healthy, basically it's also a detox from processed foods, added salts and sugars for me as well.
Forgive me if this a repetitious question - but are most of you taking calcium supplements also? As it seems very hard to get all the calcium required on this eating plan. I do understand that the diet helps one maintain a more alkaline PH balanced system that theoretically shouldn't pull or us up as much calcium then a more acidic state.

    No.

You absorb more, you lose less, and use what you take in more efficiently.

Furthermore, studies have actually tied calcium supplements to an INCREASE in some fractures.

    Ditch the PH-balance nonsense, too.

Supplementing with calcium has a lot of negative side effects that I would be very careful to avoid. If you don't have spongey bones, I wouldn't be taking it.

A great source of calcium that you may not realize is seaweed. Kelp is even higher in calcium per 3oz serving than cheddar cheese. Also, collard greens, kale and almonds are good as well.
