Mood Swings! Crazy girl coming through...!

I quit about a week after new years...it just happened that way, I don't believe in new years resolutions...
The most I've gone without so far this month is about 5 days...then I'll have maybe one or two over a few days then off again. My mood swings are off the charts and I feel like I am back to my bad bad emotional eating patterns. Where I just want to eat what ever I want just because it tastes good and working out less because, well, I just don't feel like it. Then that day I have that one smoke I feel like I'm on top of the world again and happy happy for a few days. I'm on the patch, mid level 14mg as I used to only smoke about 2 packs a week. I am having a really hard time quitting. I've tried many times in the past to quit, I don't even want to smoke and as I'm doing it I'm mad at myself. I've smoked for more than half of my life, 14 years, and I feel it's more habitual than anything. HELP! I really want to quit but just cannot get past the mood swings! I turn into this ***** monster
I heard vitamins can boost your mood? Any tips??

Omg I can SO relate!! I had just commented this morning that I feel really tired lately and didn't know why, and my husband said that it's probably really draining to be such a B+*&H!! haha

He said it lovingly of course :) And truth be told, I am very lucky and grateful to have such an understanding family! My 8 year old daughter asks me every morning if I'm 'still mad from quitting smoking' lol

My only advice to you would be to quit all of the nicotine completely. Everytime you put a little into your system, you are setting yourself up for withdrawl again and again....I'm on day 15 of quitting cold turkey. I was a pack a day smoker.

I am only just beginning to feel like a human again, but I believe that will be it for the massive mood swings (aside from when I am my lovely self when I pms)....my tongue can now start to heal from me biting it constantly over the last 2 weeks!! :):):)

@nellyett that sounds pretty descent. I just need to kick my will power into full time overdrive. It is so hard when going back to work for the first time in 4 years and all the bull crap their dad is giving me over the courts...tons going on right now that very stressful. I found reading in the evenings help pass the time. And I also bought some vitamin D pills, so hopefully that helps. In our city were known to have seasonal disorders due to lack of vitamin D from the sun half of the year

Yep, there's always something! My husband and I are a second time arounder's as well, and have a blended family and ex's and court dates to go with it too! LOL

There are really great resources out there which help change your mindset. Allan Carr's Easy Way to Quit Smoking is and incredible tool!!! It really resonates with people.

    There's also www.whyquit.com and www.smokershelpline.ca

these both have lots of information and reminders as to why we are putting ourselves through this withdrawl hell!! :)
