PCOS symptoms INCREASE while losing weight?

Hi to all the PCOS ladies out there. I've been fairly fortunate with my PCOS and the symptoms haven't been overly sevre. But while losing wieght I am noticing some start to increase; more aggessive hair growth in places I don't want it, and thinning hair right at my hairline. And right around my TOM my skin gets way worse and my back pain is horrible (along with the cramps)

I have tried to manage the PCOS without any medication and mostly work on it throught diet and exercise, which the endrocrinologist is supporting. I also have fibromyalgia, so getting on hormone therapy or birth control may interfer with treatment of that.

Is anyone else out there found anything to help with the thinning hair? Or has it eased up at all once you drops pounds and strengthen? Any experiences would be great.... I am starting to get paranoid.

I've got PCOS and it's so incredibly hard to lose the weight. I'll work out (cardio + weights) and eat 1400 calories per day with no luck. In thinking about how I lost 35 pounds a few years back - I followed South Beach. I ate a lot of tuna, cut out soda (diet and regular), and ate salad regularly. Thanks for posting this - I'm digging the book out and will try this eating plan again.

YES! This happened to me too. I lost 40 pounds last year and now I have hirsutism and my hair is thinning. I wonder if our glands are just still producing hormones for our last weight and not adjusting as we lose???
