Eating out while on the program

Dh and I are invited over to my dh's cousin's house for dinner on Monday, which is my first day on the program! Figures! His cousin is a very healthy eater so I'm hoping she'll have some chicken and salad or something safe.
Anyone else run into problems like this? What do you do when you're eating at friends', families, or restaurants?
