So over the past week I've been binging non stop, I think it was cause of all the stress and exams going on! I managed to eat 5500 calories for 5 days straight. Which is like about a pound of fat gain a binge! I stepped on the scale seeing that I gained 10lbs... Its making me want to go eat some more cause It took me forever to get off that 10lbs(In a fricken week).... Ugh I hope half is water... Any advice or anyone else dealing with this cycle? I just dont even want to go outside.... im way too embarrassed.

I'm sorry to hear you had such a rough time. I have been eating too much this past week too. Binge on Thursday and then yesterday with the Super Bowl. I don't weigh myself anymore because it usually just ruins my whole day. I really feel a lot more "jiggly" though and it is scaring me that I am going to get even more out of control.
Today I am starting to eat well again. I am going to try to be very structured this week to get a good pattern going and then add from there. So my suggestion to you would be to not restrict but start eating healthy today. Time to put some thought and effort into the "why" of binging and listen to yourself. I am going to try as well.

Keeping busy and being prepared helps me. I plan my day out so I'm out and about for the most part and make sure I pack snacks (almonds, apple) to so I don't get too hungry. If I'm not home, I can't binge. I also recently starts following the paleo lifestyle. I used to binge on sweets and baked goods...now since I don't have those things in the house, I can't binge on them. Hope this helps a bit!0

I've had binge days that go 3-4 days long... I've also had 5,000 / day before... or OVER! I think my highest binges can be 7,000 +
(If I have a daily total of 3,000 I consider it 'small')
Hun, i think the 10 lbs is water weight. My weight can jump up after a binge only to go back down later with a clean diet and exercise.. Just get back on track with calories - don't starve or punish yourself either. Don't over exercise, etc... take care of yourself and forgive yourself. Drink plenty of water to beat the bloat.
Now... eating 5500 / day for 5 days would give you a lb/day so. It could be likely that you gained 5 lbs. But I've heard if you binge the body will do what it can to burn more whether it be through fidgeting or lack of sleep.
All you can do now is move on, don't look behind you. Like when you're driving... you look ahead, not at the rear view mirror.

I agree you're probably bloated because of the extra sodium in junk foods. I retain water after eating at a restaurant, even when I'm careful about my portions, because they use so much salt to flavor the food. Don't be discouraged! I know it's cheesy, but the first step is admitting you have a problem. It took me YEARS to realize I had a binge eating problem. Come up with a plan and you'll find yourself on the road to recovery.0

Yup, I understand...and I consider a "good binge day" under 2500-3000 calories. And I can gain 1-4 lbs overnight, but it usually comes off relatively quickly with a clean diet and exercise (thankfully!)
I totally agree with Icey - look forward and do not punish yourself. Looking back and beating myself up NEVER helps. Treat yourself the way you'd treat a good friend who is in your situation.
I have started weighing only once a week, as opposed to daily, and it really seems to be helping me. I think I've come to find out the scale is a huge trigger for me. Maybe staying off the scale for a little while will help.

I know how you feel because I spent 6 weeks + binge eating daily, sometimes several times daily, totalling 5000-7000 calories a day. When I finally dared to check the scale after a week or so back on track, I was 10Ibs up. But I had gone too low in weight to begin with, so although I have not got all the weight back off, I have lost enough of it to be more comfortable. I remember I didn't go out hardly at all, other than to buy binge food, during this time, and I would wear nothing but baggy jogging pants and baggy tops and felt absolutely awful. You will have gained weight for sure, there is no escaping that, and continuing the cycle will only make it worse, so you need to get back on track. Get some exercise in, preferably fairly intense, to try and get rid of some of the glucose, so that the cravings will lessen. I never manage to get back on track after a binge unless I exercise intensely, because all that sugar etc running around the body leads to further cravings until some of it is eliminated.
Also, try not to restrict your calories too low, aim for an appropriate amount, and allow something small as a treat each day so you won't be as likely to binge out.0
