Never was around your size (only topped out in the low 200s) but I have lots of advice. ;-)
My advice is to NOT listen to all the diet advice that says you gotta do or eat this and this and never that or that -- you need to figure out what will work for you - it can't be a diet you have to change how you eat/think about food. If you like eating at night (like I do) than keep eating at night -- just make sure you stay w/in your calorie limit.
I really believe my success this time (and it was actually easy) is attributed to cutting out ALOT of the processed foods -- the biggest plus I experienced is that my cravings completely went away. I can have chips (biggest downfall) in the house and not eat a one or if I do than a single serving is perfectly okay..
As far as exercise goes.....................don't feel you have to kill yourself. The ONLY exercise I did while losing my 50 pounds was walking 30 minutes a day most days of the week.
Believe that you can do it!!!!
Good luck!0 -
When I started years ago I was proportionately a little smaller but still had BIG numbers to lose. I was 226 and 5'2". It says I've lost 52 lbs on my chart but that's because that's where I started THIS time. I was at 202 a little over a year ago.
I'd love to chat with you and be your cheer leader.
My best advice is pick one thing at a time to change and make it a habit before starting on the next. If you already eat fairly healthy then you can add something else but until you have that under control I'd recommend doing other things with discretion. I had really good eating habits in place before I started my fitness journey almost a year ago.
If you have a handle on your foods and the quantity and quality, then you should start with something very simple. I made a commitment to walk every day for 27 days to make it a habit last February. I've done a heck of a lot more than that since then but that's where I started!
Take things one day at a time and start each new day as just that...a new day, a new opportunity. You can do this!0 -
Hi my name is Jen. I have lost 43 pounds in 3 1/2 months following the amounts set by MFP although they are a little lower than the nutritionist recommended . I started when I found out I had type 2 diabetes. My numbers have been great lately and I hope to have a good a1c later this month and get off the metformin. I find the type 2 diabetes group to be very nice and helpful. I still have 80 lbs to go so I will send you a friend request and we can work on this together.0

another. So far I have lost over 70 lbs and am currently at 226,
Was wearing size 24 (needed to be wearing 26) am am now in a size 16
Changing your life is not easy but it is worth it because I can cross my legs!
I do not have to use the handicapped restrooms because I can fit comfortably
In regular ones. I no longer have flesh squishing out of my desk chair!
