I am doing this right?

Hi
I am trying to lose weight as healthy as possible and it seems that everybody has a different opinion of what is healthy and what is not. I just want to do a good job, lose the weight but also treat my body right. Please let my know what you think. I just need to stop stressing about if I am doing this properly or not.

My average calories intake is about 1500 calories
My average amount of carbs is around 150, protein 110 and fat 50
I use a digital scale to measure my food
I track everything daily
I don't cheat (have only cheated two in about 2 months)
I have lost 12 pounds in 50 days
I work out everyday burning anywhere from 300 to 700 calories. Apart from that I sit behind a desk most of the day.
I am 5'3, 179 pounds. don't really know my bodyfat%

Is this an ok plan?? I am over-eating or under-eating?? Should I be worried about netting under 1200?

It sounds to me like what you are doing is awesome because it is working for you. Well done!!!! I think you're asking questions in the right place though if you want to change something for the better:)

Thanks for the reply. I thought that weight loss was easy, eat less and exercise more, but while doing some research and checking out the MFP forum I cannot believe the amount of conflicting opinions! Is it really that bad to net under 1200 if I'm eating around 1500? I just want to keep a steady 1000 calorie deficit.

There is a thread above this called asking questions about your intake. Take a look at this, answer as much as you can, because there is more information needed than what you gave to answer your question. However, it doesn't have to be complicated, and you are doing very well. It's possible that you can eat more and still lose weight. You can add me if you want, I usually eat between 1600 and 1800 a day,

What workouts do you do? Also, how much more weight do you want to lose?

I am doing insanity 6 times a week, plus some days I jog for around 30 minutes. I am looking to lose another 40 pounds

You actually should be eating more. You should be looking to lose about 1 - 1 1/2 lbs a week. I would set your calories at 1,900 a day (static so no eating exercise calories back) and your macros at:

    Protein: 110g = 25% (rounded to nearest 5%)
    Fats: 63g = 30% (rounded)

The balance can go wherever, but I would suggests most goes to carbs. See how you do, give it a little time for the water weight to stabilize. Re-assess after a month.
