starting to be serious about what goes in

I started a weight lifting program, Chaleane Extreme, a month ago. The scale did not change but I lost 7 inches overall and have had strength gains that I'm happy with. I find that I enjoy weight lifting and look foward to pushing myself even more after this program. Regarding food, I am not sure what amount of protein/carbs/cals I should be aiming for in order to make sure all of the hard work I'm putting in not being lost. I'm getting mixed messages from different websites. I am 5'9, 176 lb. I appreciate any help.
