Not sure what CAPE is, but I usually go to the CHEA convention here in California every year, and I LOVE it! Gives me the motivation and focus I need, because inevitably, it always seems that right around summer, I start questioning whether I should continue homeschooling, if I'm doing enough/too much in certain areas, and second guessing every decision I was so sure about the year before. Funny how that happens! Usually I try to figure out before-hand which speakers/workshops I'm interested in, and plan some free time to shop/browse the curriculum areas. I haven't brought my daughter before, so this will be the first year I'm doing that too. Our convention has a whole kids-only HS convention running concurrently, so I'm sure my daughter will want to spend some time over there while I do the "boring" stuff :)
  • Never heard of CHEA myself. So I looked it up. CAPE is Christian Association of Parent Educators. The convention sounds much the same. My husband typically goes with me, so we try to plan ahead and split up so we can cover more areas of interest.
