So i've been lurking the boards here the last couple of weeks, wrapping my head around the concept and yesterday it dawned on me - most of the people I'm reading posts from are either toning up or losing that last 10-20lbs that they can't lose. Which is great! It obviously works and the difference in tone and health is obvious.
It made me wonder though - has this system proven to be effective for people in the obese/morbidly obese category? By proven, I mean "hey others on the boards - anyone else start off with 50+ to lose and find this an effective method?"
Thanks in advance for taking the time to help me out with this.

I have 100+ lbs to lose and I've always followed this principle. I have lost about 30 lbs and 2 pants sizes since August 2012, simply by watching what I eat, and making sure that I actually hit my calorie goal [when I wasn't at work I used to get distracted and not eat] . My next goal is to start some exercise type activities now that I actually have the energy to do it.
You can friend me if you want!0 -

Short answer....yes! Welcome.
Read the stickies and come up your BMR and TDEE numbers. What calorie level have you been eating and for how long?0 -

Yes, most defnitely in my case. See my ticker - majority of that lost by eating 1800-2200 cals a day, often much more. I averaged 10-15% TDEE cut to get those results in 12 months but a large chunk of that time I ate way more due to forgetting to log/monitor/life events. Go for it, it works!0
