pedometer vs distance on the treadmill

Because the weather pretty bad here, I used my treadmill and I wore my pedometer (attached to my shoe). According to my pedometer, I ran 3.09 miles in 30 minutes. I think that that is rather fast for myself. So I was wondering how accurate are pedometer for converting steps to miles.
Should I be pleased with myself or be prepared for a reality check.

I checked my pedometer and it is set for kilometers which is 1.94 miles....this sounds a little more accurate for my performance.0

That does sound a little more reasonable. LOL. Otherwise...wow!0

I know how you are feeling right now. I used a GPS app on my phone and it told me I ran really far. Had to do the route with a bike odometer, and get the real distance. It was exciting for a little while...I was *such* a fast runner. Then. I wasn't so much.
But keep running. Yesterday I could feel my speed pick up a little, so speed will come for all of us.0
