Distance app?

Do you have one? I want to track how far I run...preferably one that I can start and stop to track ony running portions.

I'm not very techy, so maybe this is a silly question.

You could try Runkeeper, it's a free app that will track your distance, speed, map your route etc. :)

I really like my Endomondo Pro version. It's about $5. You can program in intervals or pause the application. You can even have it self-pause when the GPS sees that you have stopped moving.

I also like endomondo pro also. One of the things I like about it is I can set it for walk, run or bike riding. With the gps it maps your route, shows the mile markers and gives you your pace for each mile.

    Thanks!!

I downloaded the free version of Endomondo and am trying it now. Some people commented that it might be generous in the distance, and I'm wondering that, too. It said I ran 3.1 miles today in 30 minutes. (BUT, I didn't do my weight training right before the run, so maybe....) I did test it at a track last Saturday, and it was spot on, though. I'm going to cover my run route tomorrow with a bike and odometer.

I like DigiFit app for distance and HR. It links data with MFP rather nicely.

I forgot to update this: I traced the route with a bike odometer, and it was only 2.7 miles. That's a HUGE difference, percentage-wise! 2.7 miles was also much more in line with the speed I had been doing on the treadmill. I haven't used the app since then. If it can't be more accurate, it doesn't really matter how far at this point...only that I keep running. I'll probably revisit it later when accurate distance becomes more important.

I did an 8 miles bike ride last week and used endomondo and it measured it as 8.75 miles also over estimated the calories burnt as well. Adidas Mi coach also allows you to create intervals if you want to track your walks and runs. I have a GPS watch as well as every running app going and every time I change from walking to running I just press the lap button

Endomondo totally overestimates calories burned. I've started just using MFP for that. It's been pretty accurate for distance for me though.

I tend to use runtastic although on Sundays run/walk I thought I'd turned it on but I hadn't thought it was a bit quiet. Good job I had my garmin on as well. Well done on your 5k by the way

Thanks! I'm still pretty jazzed about it.
