I know it's not specific to Paleo, but I won't post to the general discussion groups any more. Check your cans!

I saw this. I buy tuna in water, so I hope it is only the oil ones that are in question.

From the article: "The recall also involves 659,784 cans of Chicken of the Sea tuna in water and oil, not just tuna in water, as earlier reported".

    Apparently, it's both.

IMO, tuna's pretty flavourless anyway. It's like... well, it's like the protein equivalent of carb sources like rice or oatmeal: provides a great source of the macronutrient, yet lacks in nutrition and tastes extremely bland, requiring something extra to give it flavour. Better off with salmon. Salmon's delicious.

Oh No! I only saw oil.

I buy Starkist anyway... please tell me it's not that too!

I don't care for tuna on it's own, but I love making tuna salad!

Most canned tuna has soy in the broth, the stuff in water, anyway, not sure about the oil variety. Not something I eve expected, so if you care, check your cans. I buy the no drain stuff, that is soy free.

    Thanks for notifying us.

I don't eat tuna because of contaminants (only albacore in my community) and it's too low in fat, but I still like to being informed of all food recalls.

No wonder it was on sale at Walgreens last week for 50 cents...just kidding (it WAS on sale though). I already ate the two cans I bought. Oh well, I'm still here. Thanks for the heads-up anyway :)
