Did anyone not lose any weight on the pre op liquid diet?

I'm getting my gastric bypass on Monday the 18th. That's in 5 days!
Did any of you cheat on your liquid diet? I ate some pickles and cheese but have been good all 2weeks. So how come am I not losing any weight? I've only been taking in like 300 cal a day. But I don't drink much water. I weighed myself at the drs today and I'm still 421lbs. How can that be possible?

Keep in mind that, at weights as high as a lot of us start out at before surgery, our water weight can fluctuate by 5- 10 lbs. in a day or two (have you been drinking more water, since you can't eat? are you drinking fruit juice with a lot of sugar? gator-aid with a lot of sodium?).
Also, there are a LOT of people who don't lose any weight in the first week - and sometimes two weeks - after surgery. One of the best pieces of advise I've gotten is "don't be a scale stalker". Weigh yourself 2 or 3 times a week, max, and don't panic over fluctuations of a couple of lbs.0 -
I'm worried that the dr won't do the surgery if I haven't lost any weight.0

Did they tell you to lose some weight first?0

Yeah 10lbs0

Well, you have 5 days left!
Consider finding a gym with a pool, and paying the per-day fee. You can do some Water-Walking for low-impact exercise. Also just watch your intake very closely - you need 6 - 8 cups of water per day to function, so don't go below that. Make sure you're drinking mostly WATER, and not sports drinks with lots of sodium. If you're supposed to be drinking shakes, space it out over the day so that your energy doesn't get too low. Above all, and especially in the last 3 days or so, DON'T CHEAT!0 -
Thank u soooo much. Uve really helped calm me down0

Drink your water.
Liquid calories can get away from you real quick, that's why my dr told me to find my protein in food rather than protein shakes. Keep in mind I am almost 3 years out at this point.
Something that worries me, I don't mean to come off rude or anything, but from my experience and what I went through, I picked up oni how you said you "cheated". Stop thinking of this as a diet. We are not going to get to a certain weight and not have to watch what we eat anymore or stop exercising. This is a life long battle. (Not to discourage you) We are changing habits and lifestyles. I don't regret my surgery because I am now in a spot to feel every pound I put on or take off, and it's a great motivator, but I am now carrying on habits I should have had before and I would have lost the weight.
With Five days out, concentrate on getting in your water. Don't "cheat" with food, and you will have to see what the dr. says about the surgery. I really doubt they would cancel it at this point.0 -
Yeah I haven't been drinking that much water. I just thought that the less water I drink the less water I would retain.0

Water can be your friend. After surgery it's going to be hard to get your water in, only because you can't do it all at once. I still get frustrated because when I'm thirsty I want more than a sip at a time. It hurts if I gulp.
You are so close to surgery and getting your water after surgery is very important. Don't stress yourself. Just concentrate on the water in the next 5 days.
P.S. I had a lap band that caused Espophogeal Dialation. When they wanted to convert it to the sleeve I was put back on an all liquid diet. I gained 6 lbs in 30 days. Liquid calories are a lot harder to control for me.0 -
