the poofy area around your belly button

Ok so I'm not good with names for abdominal muscles. I have lost 46 lbs and look better than I have in YEARS but I still have this poofy area around my belly button. It's mainly underneath and is "thicker" (fatter) than the rest of my abs. It seems more defined now that my muscles are defined, which makes it stick out even more :-( I need to know what exercises will get rid of it. I've done P90x and am now doing Insanity, so you know I've tried a ton of different abs exercises with those two programs. Nothing's working.

I have the same problem. I'm so happy with every other part of my body. I've been doing crossfit for about 3 months and I'm seeing great results, but I've still got a bit of a tummy. I can feel my abs under that layer of fat, it's so frustrating. Everyone tells me it's all diet so I guess I just need to step up my game there.0

That is what people tell me too, although I feel like I eat pretty healthy. I'm sure there are things I could cut out, like sweets or wine here and there, but for the most part I eat clean. I will step it up, too, and see what happens! Thanks for your reply :-)0

Abs are made in the kitchen not the gym. Too much ab work will make your tummy look bigger due to increased muscle size over time and the layer of fat still covering it. If you still have a pooch, it usually means you still have fat to burn. Make sure your diet is super clean and up your cardio while still doing weight training as well.0

You're welcome!!!
Abs are tough since you can't spot reduce fat. I never in my wildest dreams imagined I would have a six pack. Once I got to my goal weight I really focused on my diet and one day, out of the blue they popped. It was the most amazing thing I've ever experienced. My diet was so squeeky clean though and it's not easy to maintain.
***Just as a side note...I did 3 sets of 25 crunches 1-2 times per week and that was it. No other ab workouts at all. :-)

I'm having the same issue - my main problem is know how much of what to eat....
I've been eating a lot of lean protein (lean steak, egg whites, chicken breast) and veggies/oats etc for almost a month, and have been running like a madman every day, and doing strength training as well. I'm seeing great results everywhere except my freakin abs - they won't pop through at all, and I have a little saggy area below my belly button.
Is there anything else I can do to speed up the process? I'm hoping to get ripped in another month and will do anything required
Any help?0
