So, I know this is off topic, but I need to vent. :). We can NOT choose a name for this baby! It is making me crazy! Have any of you been at a complete standstill when choosing a name? How did you get past it? DH hates my favorite option and I am pretty against his favorite option too. I really don't know what to do. We've been thinking/talking about it for 2 months now. We've gone through family trees, read baby name books, used name websites, etc. Any suggestions?

We were the same with our first and decided just to ignore it. Once we actually had her and saw her it was so much easier to pick out a name that we both liked and that suited her. But we did have to ditch our favourite names as the other didn't like them. This time around we aren't worrying about it too much either until the baby is born. But over here you get 6 weeks to name a baby so we get a bit more time!

That's not off-topic :) The only thing I can suggest is maybe variations of the names you each like? For example, if you loved the name Julianne, and he hates it, what about Julie or Julia?

This might be just me but as far as I'm concerned he can give me his input and take that into account but since I'm the one who had to be pregnant and go thro labour and birth that I get final veto power :P.

    Agreed!!!!
We can't decide either and I am pretty much planning on using my fav name since he gets to choose the last name by default!!!!

We have already started talking about names, and it's quite difficult as my husband is Turkish, and we're living in Turkey, so we want a Turkish name, but one that's not too common, and would also 'work' in Australia. We are leaning more towards Arabic names, and have found girl names we both like, but boys is much more difficult!

It may be easier once you see the baby!?

    Good luck

We have been like this twice. Once for my oldest son, and now for this baby. It is so frustrating! I feel like I do all the research and list building, and DH just dumps on it. I finally told him to come up with a list and I'd look at it.

With our older son, we didn't have a name until the day or two before he was born. We just couldn't settle on anything we loved, and then saw a movie with an old time actor that we both liked. Just so happened that our son was born in his 37th week, so that was what he was named. :)

For this little girl, we decided on a name early on, but then I fell out of love with it. It was too popular and overused, and our other children have more unique names. I think DH is still stuck on that name, but there is no way I am going there. He likes my other suggestion, but we aren't 100% on that either. :ohwell:

We are going to come up with a short list, and then probably wait until we see her to make the final decision. Good luck! :flowerforyou:
