The wine I opened on Saturday is not good, it might have to become sangria, that's how we avoid alcohol neglect:tongue:
Yep I will make a wine cooler or something to choke down bad wine. I just can't seem to throw it out.

    this, completely!
it doesn't matter how awful it starts out, i'll make it drinkable!!

True, sometimes just some lime sparkly water can make it drinkable and refreshing!

    I got a 0 last night!

Sounds some fun festivities ahead of you Kblue!!

Sorry about work Mama Lush and Chloe and good luck on your ultrasound Chloe!!!

Good for you SoCal :flowerforyou: Now that I'm losing the sane/healthy way my body is finally realizing the sane/healthy part and so some days I feel slimmer and others not so much. Luckily our scale died so I haven't weighed in forever and it actually feels fantastic because that number though just a number would no doubt depress me. That's what I get for working my body like a machine before the wedding. I had a bacon, egg and cheese wrap for lunch. Not the healthiest but it hit the spot and now I won't go have something else to make up for something I didn't want to begin with

I've certainly been helping keep up the lush part of our thread. I'll be having some wine in a bit when Cougar Town comes on. They show one episode in the afternoon and I have fallen in love with it. Probably because they're all lushes haha. I wish they showed more episodes but that would probably result in a lot of wine

I've got errands to run and lots to do before the son arrives tomorrow. There will be plenty of cooking this weekend before we leave for the hotel (battling the freshmen 15 is not his problem...he is *over* the dining commons food!) and I will be hosting a house full before he goes back on Easter.

I've dropped 2 pounds over the last week or so. I'm not logging it because I'm quite sure I will gain it all back with room service and fun food/drink next week. But it's nice to know my hard work paid off and I can just enjoy myself. :drinker:

Enjoy your baby boy Syd! And amazing work on the loss! So proud and happy for you!

Sunday - 4ish glasses of wine
    Monday - 0
Tuesday - 2 at dinner and I think I had 5 at the show, so only one more than planned.
    Wednesday - 0
Thursday - a Crispin, a Schlafly pumpkin and then I found 2 little bottles of cab in the liquor cabinet I forgot I impulse bought at the drug store when I was buzzed buying chapagme that I drank the night before my 5k. So a healthy 4 last night.

Tonight will probably be a couple glasses of wine. Saturday not sure. No plans other than my race so we'll see. I'm trying to be good the next 7 weeks before my vacation so hopefully I'll be cutting the drinking back some.

    Happy Friday lushes!

I have missed my fellow lushes but have been avoiding the lush thread since I haven't been able to drink....but like any true lush, missed ya'll so I'm back.

Robin - so sorry to hear of all of your trouble at work, sounds like you're finally feeling better with the ear infection and all - glad to hear that!

kblue - somewhere I missed exactly what happened to your knee - just curious cause I blew mine out in January, so I can definitely sympathize! Congrats on the wedding and enjoy that honeymoon that's coming!

Chloe - haven't been on here in a while so Congrats on the baby! How exciting :flowerforyou:

Had my first drink in quite some time @ dinner last night, haven't really been able to drink with the medication I've been on - developed a pretty serious blood clot in my leg after blowing out my knee right after the first of the year. So, I'm stuck on blood thinners for, well, who knows how long. I'm really not complaining though, because its keeping me alive, keeping the blood clot from going to my lungs or heart or brain - my doctor did tell me yesterday at my appt that I can have a drink once in a while so I promptly went home and had a drink! :drinker: Ah...yes a true lush! :blushing:

Well, the lushes are busy and the non-lushes are exhibiting some will power.

    Sunday, 6'ish
    Monday, 0
    Tuesday, 0
    Wednesday, 0
    Thursday, 0
    Friday, 0

Amcanzo - the timeframe is 3 to 4 months. The meds don't break up the current clot, but prevent others from forming. Your body dissolves the current clot on it's own.

    Kate, enjoy your wedding festivities!

Bridget, nice on the zeros. Enjoy your game and getting off work early.

Sydney, enjoy your son and he will enjoy your cooking I'm sure. Nothing beats a mom's cooking.

My cough is finally GONE!! MD visit on Wednesday this week and I get "white coat syndrome" with the blood pressure. So, I am hoping it's good.

Kel and I start Spring Break today...so you know what that means!!! DRINKING.

We keep our liquor in our lazy susan in the kitchen, and the other day, I walked in and it was open...there were not 1, or 2, but 3 bottles of Svedka (plain) vodka on the top shelf, and then a bottle of Three Olives Loopy and a bottle of grape Svedka on the counter above it. Holy vodka, Batman! These were all big-*kitten* bottles too.

I saw a great pic on FB last night that said, "I'm so old that I remember when vodka only came in one flavor." or something like that.

Woohoo for spring break! We have an entire large bag for just the alcohol we're taking on our trip. Priorities are in order.

Syd & Kim...I'm going to have to be honest. I always take alcohol with us! It's tooooo expensive to buy out and it's better just to have in your room free of charge :)

On another note...K-State lost tonight....hubby is MAD. But KU plays at 8:50, hopefully they'll win!!

Got annoyed with husband last night and consoled myself with wine, not a good idea haha. Went out to dinner and now back having Cupcake Red Velvet wine and watching Justified.

Friday, 4 (2 biggish beers at Champps, ??? 20 oz each)

Hubs was persuasive and won. I have no self-control. The beer mainly bloated me and now I feel icky.

Moral of story: stick with the vodka - or - stick to my guns

Enjoy your week syd. We helped out our son and his wife this weekend, with their first house. Pulling out old carpets and painting. Will spend next weekend helping them move in. Our kids keep us young! And tired.... ;)

Tuesday - 2 at dinner and I think I had 5 at the show, so only one more than planned.
    Wednesday - 0
    Thursday - 2 beers, 2 wines
Friday - 2 little glasses or rose', then 2 beers at dinner, then 2 more little glasses of rose', 2 glasses of red, and a cider I really didn't need. I'd count it as an 8. I was drunker than I'd been in a while; the night got a little foggy, but I remember going to bed.
Saturday - ran the 10k mildly hungover (my friend was rough, but she pulled it out!), had 2 mimosas at breakfast and 1/2 bottle of rose' and a draft cider (Hornsbys) with/after dinner so 5 all day but I was pretty much sober.
    28 for the week

    Sunday - 2 ciders and a 312.

I start my challenge today that only allows me 16 drinks a week so I should be toning it down a touch.

I can honestly say I was drunk from 1:30om friday until yesterday afternoon...that's when my body just quit on me then I puked and slept haha!!!
Everything was absolutely amazing. My sister in law and her (now) husband did an amazing job on everything and I couldn't be happier for them!

Amcanzo-I dislocated my knee at the end of september. Its a long way back. I have to say I am still only about 80%. How did you bust your knee and how's it coming along?! Love your pic!

    Sunday, 6'ish
    Friday, 4 beers
Saturday, 4 glasses of various red wines

    Total: 14 for the week

    Sunday, 2 cosmos

Went out after work with my friend, Margaret. One of my patients crunked and I had to call a code blue. Looked at the monitor and her HR was in the 40's which was really off since she had been in the 100's all day. I go in and she's not breathing and blue'ish, never a good sign. She was an alcoholic with liver failure so I went out and had drinks. Only 2 tho.

Ashley, good luck with the 16 - I'm trying to stay at 12 to 14 and find that hard to manage sometimes.

Sydney, I love that you are cooking for the boy. I bet he's thrilled to be home.

Kate, you just crack me up.

Gary, my MIL has a saying "God created teenagers so that you wouldn't want to keep them forever"

Ok, I need to get some **** done.

Better- running races hungover is usually interesting....it usually sucks when you start, but always ends up being a fun time...haha!

Kate- happy to hear you had such a great time!

I unfortunately felt like I had the worst hangover of my life all weekend. I had a horrible headache that started Thursday night and went until Sunday morning. The headache made me nauseous and that meant I was only craving carby bad for me foods! That sucked! Thankfully its over for now!

Well, depression has me with no appetite so although I have been drinking quite a bit I am still loosing. Not a healthy way to lose but I will take it. I am going to make an appointment with EAP and get some counselling on the depression thing. I should stop drinking for a while to deal with it but I really don't want to. *stomps her feet and sulks in the corner, clutching the vodka tightly*

I started very early on saturday and ended up in bed by around 4;00 and didn't get up until Sunday. Didn't drink until the bottle of wine with dinner Sunday night. I felt fine.

Happy to hear so many lushes are happy. Keep it up!!!! I will get there again soon I know.

Well, I am hoping to moderate at 16 this week with the holiday and family visiting for the weekend - and not be in the high 20's like normal when I am with them.

Robin, depression is mean. I hope you kick it's *kitten*.

I'm starting my count on Mondays from now on since that is when my weeks start.

    Monday - 0
I plan on another 0 tonight. My challenge involves staying within daily calories and I'm not sure how I'll fit drinks in unless I do a reasonable amount of cardio. So maybe Wednesday I'll burn some calories on my day off and have some wine.

Friday and Saturday were lushy--the neighbors' on Friday and we went out on Saturday. Sunday I was HUNG OVER. so I just laid in bed all day and snuggled Delaney. Yesterday, I had one drink and 1/2 of a chocolate milk stout. I need to get those consumed or used in a recipe so I don't waste them--all the spring beers are out, y'all!!

Looks like many of us held up our lush cards this weekend :drinker:

I know I did .... Moonshine, that is powerful stuff. Had too much of it Sunday and felt miserable yesterday so I spent the day in bed and had no drinks when husband asked. You know it's a serious hangover when I won't have a drink or two to ease it away. Probably 0 tonight and maybe tomorrow. Thursday is BFF day and we will be making happy hour so there will be drinks! Now I need to eat, clean and do laundry, fuuuun stuff haha.
