I am 5'10 260 lb male. I did have a trainer who wanted me to bulk before cutting. I put that topic on here, and it was pretty unanimous that he was wrong.
Is there someone here who is willing to help me set up a workout/nutrition program. I don't care if I have to hit the gym twice a day. I just want to lose around 50 lbs, and I need HELP!!!!
Any information is appreciated.

Thanks,

Dave

Personally I did Low Carb to shed about 60lbs without exercise. Now that I am down to a manageable 200lbs ( I am 5'11" )

    I just started 'Insanity'

    Hello Dave,

How active are you outside of your exercise activity (do you sit at a desk all day)?

What is your lifting experience and do you enjoy cardio?

    Dave,
I was in similar shape to you when i started. I've noticed that at that weight really small changes to my life had big impacts.

I can just sum up what I did to get to 210 (I slipped back up to 225 oops)

    #0 - 250ls
    #1 switched to diet soda - 240lbs
    #2 started running couch 25k - 0lbs
#3 started mpf can counted calories - 210lbs
#4 started just lifting upper body - 0lbs
Wife had baby #2, gained 20 lbs back :drinker:
Really I don't think the running or lifting did much for me dropping pounds. I think lifting and cardio helped keep me focuses and gave me energy.

Use something like this to determine how much you should eat

    http://www.fat2fitradio.com/tools/bmr/

Track all your calories. Adjust up or down if it seems you are losing too fast/too slow. Eat lots of protein. Continue lifting. Succeed :-)

I don't mean to be rude but maybe we should let Sidesteel or Sara answer questions on their board first and then maybe the rest of us can chime in.

When I first started I religiously did 30 mins cardio 7 days a week and some small lifting with DB's 3x a week. In addition, to I drastically cut my diet from eating anything (probably 3-4K cals a day) to eating roughly 1800 and netting 1400-1500 a day. I dropped 50lbs in the first 3.5-4 months. Now that said, if I had to do it over again, Id start out eating cleaner, but baby steps as I now eat much cleaner and dropped the next 50 a little slower, but its much more sustainable.
