Ok, Here's My Real Whole 30 Question...

I posted a question the other day asking if people thought what I was doing on my Whole 30 would be considered cheating. I have a tendency to word things too long winded and end up confusing people. I think what I should have asked was: Do you think if I eat as much as I need to to feel satisfied as long as they are Whole 30 approved foods, that that is ok?

Absolutely! Have you read ISWF? I think you should always eat enough to feel satisfied. Period.0

As long as you are following the meal template, eat as much as you need to be satisfied.

This means protein, veg and fat at each meal - as opposed to only several servings of fruit or lots of nuts/nut butters, which may not give you the satiety you seek for the calories you ingest.0 -
I did read It Starts With Food. I'm just second guessing myself and worrying that I'm doing the wrong thing.0

Relax! Honestly, my first Whole30 rocked my world, but when I was getting ready for my second, there were a lot of things I wanted to do differently (like not relying on lara bars...etc.) That didn't mean that I didn't "do it right" the first time, just that there were things I could do better the next. Don't let it stress you out, or you'll miss out on the wonderful benefits, like better sleep & energy :happy:0

Part of the beauty of Whole30/Paleo/Primal is that you are *supposed* to eat to satiety. It is really hard to overeat the good stuff (conversely, it is SUPER easy to overeat grains/sweets!).
As they say in ISWF- will what you are shoving in your mouth make you more healthy or less healthy? After you answer that question in the positive, bon appetit!0 -
You are NOT supposed to log on the Whole30 because it defeats the purpose of realigning your psychological relationship with food. For me, that was the best thing and for a few days I did track "just to see" and I was amazed at how few calories I was eating on the Whole30.
With paleo-fied foods, it's a lot easier to go overboard on calories I think, plus a lot of people don't eat Paleo 100% of the time, so it's easy to go overboard and "kid" yourself. Since I also have to count carbs for my diabetes, I'm tracking because it's just an extra button push. But if i wasn't a diabetic, I probably wouldn't track because I wouldn't have a reason! But on Whole30 it's almost impossible to be "bad" so I wouldn't worry about it.0
