45 lbs by September!

Hi mamas!
I just gave birth via c-section two months ago. I am FINALLY able to workout again after recovering from the surgery and am sooo happy. I am freaking out a little bit because I just bought my bridesmaid dress for a wedding I am in this September and I got it in a size 4--one size smaller than my normal size. Of course it is non-refundable, so this gives me extra motivation to fit into it!
I know I can lose 45 lbs in 6 months because I have done it before, but the added pressure of the dress is a little scary.
Currently I'm kickboxing four times a week and running twice a week. Anyone doing similar workouts and seeing results??

Congrats on your new baby! I've never personally done kickboxing but running is my favorite workout and definately a good calorie burner and has worked well for my weight loss. 45lbs is a pretty ambitious goal but feasable... keep a close eye on your calories but make sure to add a few extra if your breast feeding. It may be good to throw in some resistance training to kick up your metabolism. Keep in mind your body may have changed a bit post partum, so don't get discouraged!
    Good Luck!

I started in Jan of this year and am almost 20 lbs down (find out tomorrow on my weigh in day). So I think 45 pounds is feasible if like the previous poster said, you watch your calorie intake, do some weights and drink lots of water. I know you can do it! Good luck! And congrats on the baby.
  • Thanks for the encouragement, ladies!! I think that calorie-watching will be key in losing the 45 lbs. Normally, I work out 5-6 times a week and don't watch the calories too closely...so I'm pretty sure that will be the added kick I need to drop the extra sizes. I'm already signed up for my first 5k since pre-pregnancy (eeep!) on May 4th. I'm hoping that the more small goals I set for myself, the easier it will be for me to see progress and keep myself motivated. I'm going to add resistance and weights in May, because I'm hoping to trim down a bit more before building muscle. Keep up the great work!!
