I went on a date with a paralegal one time and she ran a background check on me!

I'm pretty sure that is known as a gross invasion of privacy. If someone told me they did that there would be no second date.

My last name is one of the 10 most popular surnames in the U.S. My first name is common, and my middle name very common. I have met people with my name frequently... in fact I grew up a mile from someone with my exact first/middle/last (and same spelling of all) who wasn't related to me. Our mail carrier got confused easily.

Shouldn't he be going by the address and not the name...?

I have googled men and thankfully nothing crazy popped up, but I did find out one or two who were already in a relationship but told me they weren't. I've googled myself too, of course. I won't go too much further with background checks or anything like that and I definitely don't give my last name to someone I just met.

    Addresses were:
    FirstName LastName
    Rural Route 3
    Town, MO Zipcode

That's as specific as our podunk system was in the 80s.
