Sucky Run

I ran 3.5 miles on Sunday. Everything seemed to wrong: tired 3-year-old who wanted to run instead of taking a nap in the stroller, pebble in my shoe, iPhone that forgot the meaning of the word "Shuffle", I was super slow (16 minute mile), etc, etc.

But I did it. And I looked really cute in my brand new Gym Girl run skirt - it was so comfortable and convenient. It has pockets in the shorts part of it, so I was able to keep my baby's pacifiers handy.

Did you let your three-year-old run until tired?

Your run skirt sounds fun. :)

I chased her down, locked her into the jog stroller and fed her snacks until she fell asleep. I think next time I'll just let her run. It'll take forever, but I think it will be a nicer experience for everybody.

There is nothing wrong with letting your little one run with you as you teach her about health and fitness at a young age. As she gets older you can let her run for longer and longer, and by the time she is going to high school she is a record setting long distance runner!

But, in the end you will have a child who loves to work out with her mommy. And what better feeling is there than that?

That's what I figure. The 5k I did really inspired her. She hung out around the house all that night in a run dress composed of one of my technical shirts with my number pinned to the front. If I don't end up being able to complete my run on Saturday, I'll just do it Sunday morning.

Had a really nice easy run this morning.

It's great that you have your daughter out there with you! I would like to think that I am inspiring my tween-age children, but they have shown little to no interest in joining me for a run. My eldest did once. I should have started when they were younger and more easily influenced! My daughter has said that she is proud of me. :-)

I'm proud of you too. You are setting them a great example, whether they choose to run or not.

Well I had my first sucky run yesterday. And it was only a quick mile trot lol. But, man was it hard. Was out of my comfort zone a bit too, I forgot my tunes so was running musicless, which sucked lol. Oh well.

No music would make it a terrible run for me, too.

I can do no music on a trail run, but I might as well hang it up anywhere else. It's like trying to run without socks. You can do it, but is the pain worth it?
