Trying to find this.. not having much luck.

Love local farmers markets though.

I have looked too but I was told we don't have it here at all, not even anything as a substitute. It looks interesting.0

Hmmm. This is the first time I have heard if it so I am going to ask around. I will let you know how I go.
Glad to see I am not the only person awake0 -
I was told its easy to grow so if you have room that might be an option for you.
I'm a bit of a night owl, too many years working in the club industry i'm afraid.0 -
I am lucky if I get to sleep before 2am. I did years of night shift.. had two kids very close together.. then in order to be an effective parent I was thrust into daylight without sunglasses and a rather large grimace on my face. The grimace remains to this day until about 1pm
I was just thinking squash takes up a bit of room but I think it may be worth a try. I could put a veggie garden out the front too but I wonder if they would get pinched.. I live in a "fun" area But so much more room out there. I guess if they get pinched the person doing the pinching needed them more than I do. I will have a squizz on ebay and see if I can acquire some seed.0 -
its apparently called marrow over here or if you want to grow it, its called cucurbita pepo.0

Melbournemum, I have purchased the spagetti vegetable at a fruit shop in Sydney although it was a long time ago, maybe ten years or more. So it was in the country - at least back then. I will look for it again.
But if you grow it, perhaps you will find a bit of a niche market0 -
Ok now you've got me searching LOL
From this link on FB: https://www.facebook.com/insulinresistancedietinfo/posts/275099782593187 I found the following:
Where to buy in Australia: "Look for ‘Vegetable Spaghetti’ grown & packed by Milano Brothers. It is in season in AUTUMN/FALL, so that's April/May down under. Try farmers Markets. Print out a photo of the label to show them. It is available, you might just have to be persistent!
Buy Seeds here: http://www.diggers.com.au/shop/product/S189/SQUASH SPAGHETTI.aspx
Sydney: try Norton St Grocer, opposite Coles on the bottom floor of Bondi Junction Westfields.

Brisbane: Zone Fresh in Newmarket, Brisbane will order it in for you, if they don't already have it.
Melbourne: Hurstbridge Farmers Market & Sth Melb market sell spaghetti squash. It’s in season May, so ask at your local market and/or farmers market. You should have luck finding it at other Farmers Market across Melbourne.
I will try ringing the Grocer in Sydney to see where else in Sydney I can get it as that is miles away from me!
Good luck.0 -
I've also bought in the shops as spaghetti squash though I haven't seen it for a few years - damn coles and woollies and their market domination!0

The elusive marrow!
I thought it was a sure thing this morning at the market.. but to no avail.
I am going to check out the farmers markets tomorrow.
I am also going to turn over the end patch and acquire some seed and see how we go.. might be a bit late to put them in but it never hurts to try and that area gets a bit of sun.
And I am with you about Woolies and Coles. They are both awful.
Having been in the know about the quality of the fish they provide to Woolies for some time now and I wouldn't feed it to my dead cat.
Thanks to everyone for your help.0 -
I can't find it either.
A friend has recommended Jen's Noodles which is made from the konjac plant. I believe Flannerys Organic Supermarket sell them, going to go there today - http://www.healthcoachjen.com/jens-noodles/benefits.html0 -
I couldn't find any in Melbourne markets (CBD and North of the city), but I found some seeds at CERES (sorry, up in Brunswick) and grew some in my garden. They take a while to grow but each squash is massive and they keep forever once you've picked them. If you have some room, I'd recommend growing some.0

I'd like to try growing these in Melbourne too. It's just a bit late to plant ( says to plant spring/ summer)
I think I'll give them a try anyway0 -
Melbournites, there is a place on Mornington Peninsula that sells them they have a store and they deliver to local area's. I get a mixed fruit and veg box fortnightly delivered and noticed that they have spaghetti squash available0
