Just wondering if it's necessary to do this or if I can just slowly increase my calories and see what happens.

Thoughts?

    I guess it depends.
Did you come from a VLCD in the past? Have you been eating low cal for a long time?

If you did, then its recommended to go on a reset just to give your body a chance to heal its metabolism and learn to eat the right amount of food. If you didnt come from a low cal diet, then you likely dont need to worry about a reset and can just go to your cut value. Some people choose to increase slowly and see what happens, others choose to jump right up and take the bloat and slight gains as they come. Whichever you think will work for you. There is no right or wrong answer to that
