How Much Weight Are You Using?

Just curious on how much weight everyone is using with JMBR. I know she mentions 8 or higher, but I'm an "old lady" nearing 50 so I think that would kill me! I started with 3 for the first two weeks, but found my 5 pound weights over the weekend so I'm repeating 1 and 2 with those. I'm also doing the more difficult modifications to keep it a challenge. I want to drag the program out past 90 days, hence the repeats.

I'm curious if I'm a wimp girl and if everyone is plunging in with 8 or more or if I'm in the mainstream.

    I've been using 3lbs, 5lbs, and 8lbs depending on the moves. The 8lbs I use for things like dead lifts and biceps. If you're going to do workouts 1 & 2 for longer than 2 weeks I think it's a good idea to up the weights. I was thinking of doing that, but now that I'm on workout 3 (which is much more challenging) I think I'll stick with the weights I have.

    How much everyone else are using is pretty irrelevant. If you feel you can continue doing a few reps after the ful set of 12 -15 reps, go heavier even if you, doing the same move with heavier weights end up only doing 7 or 8 reps because as time goes by youll gain strength. Another tactic is to start of doing the first set with the heavier and then do the second set with the lighter, just so you dont feel to discouraged!

    I am using 3's and 5's but that's only because I don't have any others and I'm poor. :) I definately need more weight, but they were sufficient when I started.
