Low Carb Frozen/Pre-Made Meals

Hi all - I have a tough time finding pre-made or frozen meals that are low carb. I do not rely on these, as I do try to make my own meals the majority of the time; however, there are those days when things get busy and having a pre-made meal to pop in the microwave is handy.

Any suggestions?

Freeze some of your cooked meals and save them for those days.

The Atkins frozen meals have surprisingly good macros and ingredients. I've used them on occasion and they are pretty tasty. I've only found them at Walmart - not at my standard grocery stores.

This, I find home cooked works out to be the best in every way, so an extra portion frozen is always handy. For speed, if you have a steamer, just chop up some veg and steam while you cook some protein, a quick one is fish cooked in a large pan with some milk/cream and water until it flakes.

I third this! I always cook up extra protein and keep frozen veggies on hand - then I can throw them in a container for a quick lunch. I also have a quick dinner when I need it, too!

one thing that makes meal planning easier for me is to not only make whatever it is i have planned for dinner, but i also try to make an extra casserole, soup, or whatever at the same time. one is for dinner, one goes into containers in the freezer. then, you can have (maybe) leftovers for lunch the next few days, and another meal already set up. i only cook for two, so i tend to have meals longer, but it's a pretty efficient system and time-saving since you were already going to cook anyway. ^_^ hope that helps.

P.S. a friend has said that Atkins frozen dinners aren't bad...just not very filling. so, you might want to grab a small salad to go with.

I rarely eat any frozen low carb pre-made meals. I either make my own meals or go to a place that makes homemade stuff like Farmer's Market and high-end markets. I like to watch my sodium as well because those frozen meals are packed with them.

I do this as well. I'm trying to limit more and more processed (boxed) food items and go with fresh ingredients.
I love making cauliflower pizza crusts, then adding the toppings and freeze them! Instant pizza that's ready in a few minutes.

I'm the only one that low carbs in my household, so I'll spend a full day on Sunday making a few different LC meals, then freeze them so that I can grab and go. I dont bother freezing veggies since I prefer them fresh.

I looked at these. Every one of them contains soy.

I second, third and fourth freezing your own food. Make extra and freeze the leftovers in individual portions in small containers. You'll be amazed at how quickly you build up a supply in your freezer.

Which may be a personal preference to avoid, but is not a restricted item for most low carb diets.
