I'm a little confused!

OK, so I was without my levothyroxine for about 3 months. When I was finally able to get back in with a doctor, my blood work showed my TSH levels at 10. something. So I was prescribed the same amount I had been on for over a year previously-80 mcg, but was told not be alarmed when I came back in a month if my dosage was upped because for my levels and weight I should actually be on 180 mcg When I went back in a month later my blood work showed I was at 0.2, so they decreased my dose to 75 mcg for 90 days. I don't understand how in the world my levels dropped so dramatically in just 30 days. I take one pill every morning religiously. Does this sound right to anyone that has had a lot of experience with this kind of stuff? I expected that if it did go down to only go down to like a 6 or an 8 in only 30 days. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated!

I like that your doc said to come back in one month and not longer. Yes, this can change quickly.

Remember - everyone's different. Seems like a lot to us, but the one thing I've learned is that it takes time for our bodies to stabilize when we change doses - you could end up going back up. It's hard, but patience!
  • Thanks guys!
