Accountability is exceptionally important in making good habits (And stopping bad ones.)
Where do you get your accountability? I get mine from my wife and from the cold judgment of the red minus sign when I overdo it.

It's funny. The more I try to be accountable for myself the more people around me seem to think Im crazy! I spoke to my neighbour the other day, and was telling her that weight loss isnt easy etc etc, and all she did was come up with reasons why bad habits are necessary. E.g. I said 'Ive not lost too much weight recently' her reply was 'Well you'll be adding muscle, so you are allowed to eat what you like'... I know it is incredibly difficult to add THAT amount of muscle in a short period. It was almost like her saying 'I dont think you need to change, so Ill come up with reasons for you not to!'
As far as keeping me accountable, my other half Ivor is a God send! He reminds me that 'nothing tastes as good as skinny feels'. I know a couple of weeks ago I was considering giving up. He wouldnt let me. He demanded I marched my lard-*kitten* down to the gym and work out. Im so glad he keeps pushing me, when I stop doing it myself!!
(I promise, Im not always an essay writer lol)0 -
Some bad habits are necessary. I think about that girl that can only eat chicken nuggets (blech...); but as a rule, moderation is the key. Yeah, you're probably never going to gain so much muscle that it stops your weight loss dead. Those tim
I think that a lot of people don't like to tell someone something uncomfortable. I remember one time in high school, I mentioned to someone that it looked like they had lost weight and a friend of mine flipped out because I was "implying that she was fat." I was just being nice.
Glad to hear that you have someone to push you!0 -
Yeah, it's a bit like my Mum. She is my worlds biggest support, but when ever I make a change she is very sceptical to start with. She often treats me like Im being OCD or paranoid because I decided to take care of myself. I dont think these people want me to fail, I just dont think they like that Im trying and they arent, so I must be at fault!
It's a shame to hear that someone cant take a compliment! I remember in high school I wore my own clothes for a charity day and a guy turned round and said: 'Oh my God, you actually look thin!' I remember being flattered, yet part horrified: did I look fat every other day?? Lol, but I shrugged it off and laughed, it's something that keeps me going now. Living for the day the next friend notices that I 'acually look thin' LOL0
