Don't be afraid to go out and get wet.

Hey all, I am so bubbly right now because I just had the best run ever. 4 miles of rain, mud, puddles up to my shins, and it was the funnest thing ever. For all you new runners out there, don't be afraid of the elements, because it makes for an awesome run. And I don't even feel tired.

My favorite is a light warm drizzle. There is this nice warm nest inside your jacket and, at the same time, you are crushing it.

One week ago it was 39° and raining. I had a great run. Today it was near 80° with a few light showers around. Sweat like crazy but still had a good run. Most of my best runs happened during really bad weather.

I haven't figured out why I dread running in the elements before it happens. Doing a Mud Run sounds exciting. "Walking in the rain" sounds romantic. And I LIKE getting caught outside. I even like dripping with sweat. Being messy brings out the kid in all of us.

    You are so right!

I started the program in snow and blizzards, it was a bit of rain yesterday, the runs were all good. I live in a country with mostly bad, cold weather. If I would wait for the ideal conditions I would never get out.

Now I wonder how my runs will be once it gets warmer.

Mamakira - I'm in exactly the same position as yourself. I started the C25K in Jan and it was very cold and snow etc. Now it's wind and rain/drizzle. It hasn't stopped me going out (yet). I just think to myself "if I can run in the severe cold a bit of rain isn't going to harm". Plus, like you, if I waited for better weather, I'd never have started the programme. Also, I'm not sure how I'll cope with the heat when the warmer weather arrives. I may well start running at 6am 'ish to avoid the heat.

I read this right before stepping out for Week 2 day 3...only to find it was raining! It was probably the nicest run I've had so far, though I was soaked when I came home.

This is what has been keeping me from my week 2! There has been snow, wind like crazy and rain all week. Plus it's only been about 34 degrees. BRR! Tomorrow, no matter what the conditions, I am continuing with W2D2
