Good morning!! It's damage control day! Haha. Actually I didn't do too bad yesterday. I had one small piece od my birthday pie, dinner out with friends and some wine. I know I went over, but not terribly and if I make today good it should be all ok. Problem is, that pie is staring out of the fridge at me every time I open it. Lol need to get hubby and son on that.

I did also manage a 6k run yesterday. I was going to do a workout in the basement but figured since the weather was better then I thought it was going to be I should get outside.

Pam, thank you so much for the add, I don't have too many people on there so it will be since to see the updates!

Sherry, I remember those playground days with fond memories! My boys are are 17 and 19 yrs old and my oldest is just finishing his first year at university. How quickly times passes. I do hope you get a workout in today-that part I remember we'll too. It can be hard with little ones.

Lizard queen, sounds like you had a very busy day and probably burned a lot of calories up !

Scrook, enjoy that nice weather, I can't wait to get out on my bike! We had freezing rain in Friday night :(

Ash, it's nice that hubby is getting into it with you too. You can motivate each other. I had lemon meringue pie for me bday, mmmmm so good.

I am typing on my new iPad that I got for my bday. Takes some getting use to but I'm getting better at it. Lol. Have a great day everyone!

It was one of those run around visits where your family member offered you baked goods etc. that I didn't refuse, lol. Back on track today started w/a protein shake so far. My excercise today is caring for my aunt. She's dealing with radiation treatments & today I'm just doing soe errands for her.Tomorrow it's back to the workout regimine.

Good Day Sunday from my part of the world! It is currently cloudy and 70 degrees with calm breezes. Sundays are usually my rest day but I may end up outdoors de-weeding around the trees and gardens again.

Maureli: glad you had a fun birthday celebration and I love love lemon pie...I can't think of any pie that I dislike for that matter. Enjoy that new iPad!

Dina: We all have those kind of food choices days...I had one last week. At least we are exercisers!! It is so sweet of you caring for your aunt. I hear radiation treatments can be hard, too. Bless her heart and you, too.

Scrook: I'm not recording the boston marathon only because I wasn't aware and hope you do enjoy when viewing later. One day it very well can be you participating. Have a great day yourself!

drooooling @maureli's lemon meringue pie and new iPad! You made out well for your birthday!

@scrook- so, do you go on the treadmill with the video playing? the video must be pretty cool for mental preparation.

@Dina-that's wonderful what you're doing for your aunt. Being healthy is a blessing (and also the result of alot of desire and hard work) and can be put to good use for those who are going through a rough time with their health. I saw a young man today at the park, probably around 16yo, long hair, heavy metal t-shirt, walking verrrry slowly, helping & holding the arm of what must've been his great grandmother. He was being so patient and gentle, while many other young people were blasting past them on their bikes or running or swinging on the big rope swing. I had to give him a special smile as I passed him--a very impressive young man.

eta: HI Pam!! You snuck your comment in while I was typing (and talking to my husband about our day)

    ---

So far today, I headed to the park alone for a run but got there to find that it was WAY too crowded for me as a beginner. When I saw a kid run his bike right into the back of a man walking, I knew I had made the right choice. If it had been me running, I woulda crashed, bled, and probably been injured. So I walked instead and continued to see evidence of my good instincts not to run, including a boy throwing a rock across the track which passed RIGHT in front of my nose (I *felt* it whooosh past my nose and saw it up close---looked like an asteroid from that close up! lol  ) So, I walked fast at the park for an hour and then decided to walk all the way home, another hour of medium/slow pace. Realized on the way home that I shoulda just done all my walking in the city today, considering the streets were empty and the park was packed!! haha! Lookin' to do the arm workout, along with my regular pushup practice, tonight after the kids go to bed.

Ashley, you asked about the size of my garden on another thread. It is 15 ft x 25 ft. Within we are growing red-skinned potatoes, collards, sweet bell peppers, crooked-neck summer squash, okra, watermelon & cantaloupe This will be our third growing season and praying for excellent produce. We have fruit trees (fig, peach, plum, apple, pear) and a small grape orchard which produces Thompson table grapes...yummm. Produce is soooo expensive so we decide to grow some of our own. We usually get enough to share with immediate family. We have six acres of land and want to plant as much edible plants as possible...LOL! It is a LOT of work but well worth it....exercise...

Hey Sherry!! Guess we were both typing a post about the same time. The park sounds dangerous...hahahahahaha. In spite of all those "near misses" you got in GOOD walking session. I don't have a push-up session until Thursday...whew....admire your motivation to practice with them today. Have a really great day!

from here on out, i do have a tv built into my treadmill and do watch while i run. But no treadmill for me yet. Once I can run outside pain free I will incorporate the treadmill back into routine. Sorry the park was to crowded for your run, I hate running in congested areas. I am a country roads runner, hate running in town.

pam- your garden sounds wonderful, Thats on my bucket list for one of these days- to try a organic garden. Just don't want to deal with it this year, it's taking all I got to get the flower beds cleaned up and ready.

wow sherry: i could picture the park while reading your post lol.

HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY MAURELI! I take it u don't do cakes? lol. wouldn't be able to relate to. I agree with getting rid of the left over as soon as possible. i usually have my husband take weekend left over desserts to work. my will power can't be trusted during the week.

Pam: WOW! you must be saving a good chunk when it comes to groceries.

Scrook: i was just talking about running marathons. no i didn't record it but am sure you can find clips online.

So this weekend's eating hasn't been to good. It sucks!! Arrgghhh! My husband will be traveling tonight for a week long trip so i might get some Zumba or kettle bell workout tonight after cooking. With him being gone for the week, my house shall be a clean eating house until he gets back on Friday. I'll keep you all posted.

Maureli- Glad you enjoyed your birthday, like you said yesterday, your pie won’t last as long, it should be gone soon and the temptation will be gone. I’m sure today will make up for your enjoyment yesterday, but you deserved it.

Scrook- Was the runners yoga a disc? Are the moves specific for runnings? I didn’t record the marathon, but I do see myself watching things and thinking that one day, I’ll be able to do something similar.

Dina- You’d be amazed how running errands can really be a workout. I’m sure your Aunt appreciated everything you are doing for her. I wish her best during her treatments.

Fromhereonout- The park sounds dangerous! You definitely made a good decision to walk instead of run. Though, dodging the rocks and bike could be some excellent ab movement.

Pam- Your garden sounds tasty! I have a coworker that grows a lot of stuff and have tons of animals. Maintaining land and gardens can take a lot of work. But your success is a two for one!

Steadybutsure- why is it that we can eat and keep a cleaner house when our husbands are gone? I hope you are able to get the workout in.

Yesterday I didn’t post but I did make it to Zumba and found it be a great challenge since I really haven’t done it for 3 years. I also cleaned the house up in a repetitive way that I ended up with over 14000 steps by the end of the day. Today was not as good but I did completed D1L1 of 30DS. I think I may try to get another workout in tonight, but that really depends on my Munchkin. If she takes another nap I will but if not, I will just tend to her, I’m trying to post this as she is waking now. Well, I hope everyone has a great evening and look forward to reading the post tomorrow.

tee tee yes it is a dvd for runners. its called Christine Felstead's yoga for runners. It is challenging but i like it. I also do one called the ahlete's guide to yoga, you can customize your workout for whichever poses you want to do for the day. I do that one thru the week when I'm short on time and focus on legs.

Hey y'all! This week, I did Zumba Monday, strength training on Tuesday, spinning Wednesday, weights Thursday, Zumba Friday, Zumba Saturday and today also! I didn't go hard at Zumba every time and they weren't all one hour. I purposely showed up late to a few so I didn't workout too much several days in a row. I have a scheduled Zumba class tomorrow (new instructor, so I'm excited!) So I will for sure rest Tuesday. I hope you're all doing well and I'll try to post here everyday. Feel free to add me because I login everyday and don't miss several workouts in a row.
