I've been away for a week, and I'm sad to say between work travel and being sick, I only ran once :(. However, today is a new day and this is a new week. Insanity tonight, and run tomorrow are my plans thus far, every time I travel I generally have to get back on track.

CTpeace- I hope the starting of a week is good for you and that you are able to squeeze in your planned workouts.

This morning I decided to try to workout at lunch, I was successful! I complete W1D1 of C25k. Tonight when I get home I will complete L1D2 30DS. I hope everyone is able to have a great workout or rest day.

    Good Day Partners!

Did my scheduled P90X Back & Biceps workout (51 mins of strength) and this week’s session was just as good as last week. There were 24 sets of different exercises and in a few I was able to increase the number of reps, too. I continued to use the 11.25 pound dumbbells for all of the biceps exercises and the resistance tube for the back exercises. I almost “chickened out” doing those Superman moves but “talked” myself in to getting them done….LOL!! I guess we all have moments like that during a workout. I am thinking about upping weights to 12.5 lbs when this session comes up again for next week.

Tee: you are doing such a great job with your workout sessions and it's nice to be able to get it in during your lunch, too.

Ctpeace: A new day and a new week....you have plans in place so make them happen where it fits. Do you travel with any kind of fitness equipment...resistance tubes or bands, a exercise dvd where you mainly use your own body weight? Just thinking of ways to help you still get in some exercise even while traveling. I was able to take copies of my videos with me when out of town for two weeks.

Toni: you did P90X Core Synergistics today? Work it!

Jess: you had an amazing workout weekend and have an amazing day, too!

    Maureli: have a great day!

Thanks to both Tee and Pam for the encouragement! I'm ashamed to say I stay at hotels with nice gyms, it's just the time crunch! Unfortunately "work travel" for me usually means 12-15 hour days that leave me pretty drained mentally. I likely would have been fine if it hadn't been for the cold that took me down mid-week. I think I need a better game plan on my next trip so I can be sure to get enough sleep and working out in. I'm trying to take all of this in as a learning process rather than getting upset with myself for having fallen off the wagon, this helps me get back on track sooner.

    Hi all!!

Sorry I haven't checked in for a while but looking through the last couple of days seems like everyone has been doing great! Unfortunately can't say the same for me, the last couple of days I have been fighting strep throat and a sprained tendon in my wrist, but both are recovered and hopefully I can start up with insanity again today (restarting month two) with a wrist brace for the next couple of days.

I'll let everyone know how insanity goes today!!

    Have a great day everyone!

    Hey everyone,

I hope that all of you had a great weekend.

I had been lucky that I did not have to go to work today. I had a five day work week last week not too bad once in a while but all of the time...

I had been reviewing some material for a Monday night college class... A little boring as far as I'm concerned.

I had also been viewing some basic Zumba steps videos... The reason is that I am going to taking the Zumba Basic 1 Instructor Certification Course on Thursday May 2... I know the basics already but I wanted to make sure that my basic dance form would be easy for other people to follow... I have to admit lately I have done more of what is called Hip-Hop Fitness. Hip-Hop Fitness is similar to Zumba but the class that I regularly go to is more advanced... In addition, many of the Hip-Hop Fitness moves have a sort of raw quality to them as far I am concerned. In contrast, Zumba moves in my experience tend to be smoother and more refined... Furthermore, most of the Zumba music is Latin which has a very different type of beat than hip-hop music...

However, I love both forms of cardio dance equally... I also love generic cardio dance as well which is sort of in between the differences in style between Zumba and Hip-Hop Fitness...

Hi all! Read ya, but no time for shout outs. :( Hope everyone who has picked up the Spring crud or injuries is on the mend. :flowerforyou:

I had an overly busy day. Shopping with my heavy lil girl in the "baby" sling this a.m. Ran for 16min straight, walked/re-hydrated for 16min, then ran another 16min straight this afternoon, then stretched and a lil more walking (total run distance, about 5k!). I'm rather proud of that. My form is finally getting pretty solid too. Did a Fitness Blender strength workout tonight after the kids went to bed. Ugh! Not fun! I've got to rework my schedule--no night workouts for me. Dinner was still high in my gut, my husband sitting there half watching me. bleh! And here I am, nearly 1am and sweaty and needing a shower before bed. I hope my lil girl sleeps-in tomorrow morning.

Okay, hope to have more time tomorrow.

And, btw, y'all are all just so great!!! I just love coming here to read all about your dedication and strength and stamina and coordination (ehem, that "coordination" is aimed@jjscholar, 'cause Zumba & hiphop are some serious choreography! welldone! good luck with the training!). I guess I never thought I'd be "doin' it"...REALLY doin' it, and yet here I am with people who are doin' 30DS and p90x and Insanity and CLX and Turbofire and Zumba Instructor certification and running races and ... well, you get the point.

Y'all are hard core and I'm just honored to be in the same group with you!!

    Good night!!

Did my SL5x5 this morning as planned. It's getting easier to convince myself to do it. As the temperature outside is rising, I'm getting more of a sweat out of it. My weight bench is in the garage, so I open the garage door to get some ventilation and then go to work! I also feel like I'm doing more now that my weights are getting higher and I'm really having to work for the last couple reps.

Great job to everyone - even if it's just for getting back on the ball! I was there recently, and you just have to jump back in.

Hi everyone, Got a 7.5 mile bike ride in when I got home from work this afternoon. It was my killer hill route which I haven't done so far this year because of the leg injury. Well cardio wise it kicked my butt, but leg seems to have held up ok. Did some yoga when I got done.

jjscholar--how cool to be a zumba instructor. I am such a clutz that by the time I figure out one move, I'm way behind. LOL

Just wanted to say what a terrible tragedy, the bombing at the Boston Marathon- and prayers for all the wounded and for the families of the ones that lost their lives. It is just horrible.

Pam: That is great that you’ve increased your reps and talked yourself into pushing out the exercises you think twice about. That’s a sign of dedication and commitment. Way to go!
Thank you, I like the way I felt before when I made working out part of my daily (normal routine) , I am starting to get my mojo back. In the Navy there is an instruction that says we are supposed to workout 3 times a week during work hours, not all the times commands can get it in, they normally try to put it at the beginning or end of the day. But the office I work in, gives us a 2 hour lunch to workout, and if we go late, then we just adjust our lunch accordingly.

CT: It must be hard to travel and have long days, I’m pretty sure when you get in your room you just wanna lay down. I’m sure you’ll rock your workouts when you have the opportunity to do so.

Sam: I hope you were able to get your workout in and able to modify movements as necessary to ensure that you do not hurt your wrist anymore. Sometimes, it is so hard to resist the urge to workout despite our injuries.

JJscholar- I would love to attend a Hip-Hop fitness class in Groton, when I was at a Zumba class on Saturday, I realized how much I liked the hip hop song more than the Latin ones. I don’t think I have the hip movement for Zumba. Good luck with your certification course.

    Fromheronout: What is Fitness Bender?

I successfully completed 30DS this evening, day 2 down 28 more to go!

    Have a great evening everyone!

    "run from commitments"

    Busy weekend:

Yesterday I did a brief (5 minute) run and walked around our land with my husband. We also went to a "rattlesnake festival" (basically a fair) and walked around.

Today I did a 60 minute yoga class.

Feeling much better, so tomorrow I will be back to my running!

@teetee: www.fitnessblender.com I love them! They have (free) individual exercises, (free) entire workouts, and one pay 8 week program. They are about to revamp the website to make searching workouts better. My absolute favorite (when i have the time) is the so-called 1000 calorie 84 minute workout with HIIT cardio, strength, and abs.

    @nareena: true that!!! hahaha!
