Good Morning everyone
Feeling happy about my runs the last 2 days. Managed to get in 8K both days and felt really good. Lately all I seem to be able to muster up is 6K or so. I know thats not bad, but for me....I usually do 8 or sometimes 10K. I know that the weather yesterday was a boost, sunshine and blue skies. Today was grey, but still not bad. Tomorrow I work and its giving rain, so whatever I do will most likely be inside, unless the rain stops and I can get a run in after work. Doubful!!
So sad about the events at the Boston Marathon yesteray. There were 2 runners there from my town, one that I know quite well. He had finised in just over 3 hours....so was done, but in the crowd just a ways down from the explosions. So scary. The other runner was only 1/2 km from the finish. Sad and scary.
it looks like everyone is doing well getting in the exercise. Keep up the good work!0 -
Did wk. 2 RI30 today. That's all I could muster. I need to catch up on my ZZZ's so I won't be so tired. Day 2 of staying on track w/eating enough food for the day not to mention healthy choices.0

maureli, when I grow up, I want to be just like you. Seriously, I want to be one of those people who runs 8k any time I want! Well, I guess it doesn't come overnight, right? Good for you, getting in a couple days runs before the gray skies send you inside.
We've had threatening skies, but I just went for it anyway, and the rain never materialized...yay! Today I ran 17min, walked/rehydrated 17min, ran 10min, stretched & walked a lil more. Tonight I did Fitness Blender Abs and Obliques Workout - 10 Minute Abs Workout. I was kinda dragging today. My legs felt heavy. I don't know what that means. Might try to hit the hay early tonight, if the kiddos cooperate.
Happy Tues all!
eta: Hey Dina! I took too long to post and just saw you! Way to go on RI30. Week 2 was never my favorite but it's effective. Looks like you and me both need some extra zzzz's tonight. Sweet dreams!0 -
Good afternoon everyone! Did my Turbo Fire 30 and Sculpt 30 on my lunch break.
Hope you all have a wonderful day0 -
Good day Tuesday everyone! My thoughts & prayers have been with those in Boston...indeed very scary and tragic.
P90X Kenpo X kicked my butt with 58 mins of kickboxing today!! I was drenched by the end. Enough said.0 -
Hi all, I am back from the edge of the wagon! Yesterday my insanity idea didn't happen :grumble: , so this morning I made myself get up and do a 40 min run. I'm just better in the mornings, and planning for the evenings means linking my workout with my husband's plans, which is harder. My new resolution is to be sure to get my workout in early, the later in the day I try to do something, the less likely it is to actually happen.
Pam, yes, totally shocked about Boston! All I could think about was what it feels like to finish a marathon, and the all-around good will that surrounds a race like that, and am so angry that anyone could do such a thing to such an a-political, positive group of people. Praying for the families of the lost and for the injured.
Dina, take heart! good for you for sticking with it, and your post is a good reminder that sleep is often the important 3rd component along with diet and exercise that is key in overall health. Sweet dreams!0 -
quick check in for me Got up this morning and did the Firm Complete aerobics and Weight training. My leg is super sore today, guess those hills on the bike was to much yesterday. Great job everyone on their workouts today, and yay for all the runs that got done.0

Maureli: Great job on your run! I only wish I could run 6k or 8k. Do you run marathons?
Dina: How is RI30? After your workout did you feel energized or tired? Sometimes, after a good workout, I feel great but then hours later I would feel so tired. Hopefully, your schedule allows you to get some extra Z’s.
Fromhereonout: Thanks for the site. I will have to save it to have something to mix it up if necessary. I agree, I’d like to run like
Maureli, but your run was good, keep it up.
Jessmart: Those are two nice workouts, bet they probably made your afternoon go a little easier.
Pam: I have a coworker doing P90X, I’ve noticed great results in the 6weeks that I was on maternity leave. Which is your favorite workout? When I started/attempted P90X , I enjoyed Kenpo X and I remember the sweat, but it was a great workout!
CT: It is hard to plan our workouts around our spouses, especially if they are not into the same workouts or if kids are in the house. Stick to getting your workouts in the morning and if you get something done in the evening, then it’s like a special treat. I have to get into the habit and routine of my workouts (an eating) so when my husband returns from deployment it won’t be derailed as much. He sees things completely different than I do when it comes to eating well and working out.
Scrook: It seems that your post is always when I am drafting mine, I almost missed you again. Only one leg hurt? Are you sure it may not be some type of minor injury? Take it gentle, you don’t want to overwork the other to compensate. Hope your leg feels better soon so you can be back on your rides.
I’m getting more Z’s each night. Baby girl is sleeping in 4 hour increments. Today was command TRX, right before we were about to change, something came up and 2 people had to leave. So it was only me and my immediate boss from my actual command (I’m in a unique situation). I really enjoyed my workout and did one inverted plank (struggled last Tuesday) and a few amateur spider man push-ups.
I hope everyone has a great evening, look forward to reading everyone’s post tomorrow. My agenda tomorrow at lunch D2W1 C25K and D1L1 30DS tomorrow after work.0 -
I made my run today.. Tuesdays are always harder, as the route our group goes has a lot of small hills. It's all trailways through the woods and along the river. Beautiful to look at while we run, etc. But OMG those hills are just awful.
After the 1 mi silent run for the Boston Marathoners, we went out for the usual 3 miles. I managed to run/walk 3.87 miles in 1 hour 3 minutes. Worn out.. but I am so happy I did this.0 -
Dropping in one more time before calling it a night. I was able to work the gardens for a little while and claimed 30 minutes of general gardening on MFP exercise.
Tee: my favorite P90X workout is Back & Biceps for strength and Kenpo X for total body cardio. I avoid his Yoga X, Plyo and the Synergistics like the plague...LOL! I tend to lean more towards strength training as my all-time favorite exercise. I do feel the P90X workouts are TOO long....LOL! How old is your baby? My DD just had a baby boy 4 weeks ago today and I am "coaching" her to lose weight, too. She is currently breast feeding and I believe you are too from a post I saw? She is still dealing with a baby trying to figure out days and nights...heehee. Sounds like you got in a good workout during lunch today....great job!
Nareena: That was so honorable of your group to run in "silence" for the Boston Marathoners.
Scrook: take extra care of that leg.
Ctpeace: I take a bow at you getting up early this morning to exercise. You will find your groove..and it just may be early morns.
Good night partners!0 -
I'm building back up on my running after nearly a week off due to sickness. Today I did 1/2 of C25K week 4 which was equivalent to 9 minutes of running and the rest walking. I'm hoping to do the full week 4 again on Thursday and one day this weekend to be ready for week 5 next week. I also did 50 minutes of yoga. Good job ladies!0

Hi all!
Glad to hear everyone is doing awesome on their workouts!! Unfortunately my strep throat is back with a vengeance so insanity is on hold for a little bit, I did get a Lon walk in today so better than nothing I might try an easy jog tomorrow and see how I'm feeling, fingers crossed!!
My heart goes out to everyone affected in any manner but the horrific events in boston, it is such sad day when anything like this occurs especially during such an amazing and historic event. Xoxo

went on a walk with the little monster today. My feet are killing me! There was more climbing than I had planned. The monster is possibly teething and not in a good mood. I foresee a LOOOOONG night tonight.0
