Paleo & Blood Pressure

Options
I have been following a Paleo meal plan for a couple of months now, went to eye doctor the other day and they took blood pressure before eye exam. It was 122/83...now prior to starting this meal style my blood pressure was in the high 140s/low 150s. I went home and took out my bp monitor and took it yesterday and today (129/83 and 132/76) because I was convinced she had done it incorrectly, but it appears that my pressure has dropped significantly (resting heart rate averages in the low 60s)! Has anyone else experienced this type of result from a paleo lifestyle?

Way to go! I haven't personally but I've read many many stories of blood pressure dropping for people.

Check out Whole9Life for some blood pressure testimonials.

What boggles my mind is how quickly years of damage can be undone with a Paleo diet.

    absolutely, in spades.
My bp was quite routinely 145/110 - never 150 but getting close. My Dr's kept saying, we need to start thinking about medication.
    ugh.
3 months after going paleo, My bp is very stable at 110/70. Resting heart rate in the 50-60's.

When I asked my dr. who is an internal medicine specialist about Paleo, he had never really even heard of it, and called it a fad, bla bla bla.

3 months later, I am down almost 30 lbs, total cholesterol down 20 pts, and good cholesterol up 15 pts, with a blood pressure reading of 112/72

I am not claiming I have made the full transition to Paleo, as I struggle with doing it exclusively since my family is not at this point... There was a good special on Dr. Oz yeterday though, which my wife watched, so perhaps that will influence her too.

notice the title alone, "Internal Medicine Specialist". I prefer not to take medicine, rather take food.
And as you know - it is a 4 million year old fad. The crap we have been doing to ourselves in the past 50-100 years, it really the newcomer to the block, along with cancer, diabetes, severe obesity...
I'd rather die from a raptor attack than any of those diseases.

I just had my yearly physical and my blood pressure is even better than it was before, as is my resting heart rate.

I have had great success lowering my blood pressure following Paleo. Last October my BP was 170/105 and today it is 122/75

I was diagnosed w/adult-onset asthma a couple years ago and put on daily meds for it, which I wasn't very excited about. I have noticed that there has definitely been an improvement since starting the paleo. I don't use my inhaler daily...only sometimes before exercise.
