Chris great job. Steller actually. That was a lot of men climbers. Lol. I like the looks of the ab workout. I need to finish looking them all up. So many things have more than one name. I like the idea of doing something for the abs while still working on strength.

Ok everyone check out this site, it takes a while to view. But I think it will be well worth it. It is a total body workout. I was considering one day of this, one day of the ab one you mentioned Chris. And the seventh day rest. This would give us a nice challenge and we could still do the other workouts we all like. Joan found this site. http://www.runnersworld.com/workouts/ironstrength-workout
It has very limited Jumping Jacks, and like I suggested, a tae bo type of boxing could be substituted for them. I wrote everything down while I was watching the site. I thought we could give it a try for a month and see how we like it. Or want to change it up again. They are done in super sets.

I'm game! I'll modify what I have to. I didn't see any boxing though. If I was supposed to chose one of the links on the left side of the screen let me know but ...no boxing.
I went shopping with Sara instead of working out tonight. She doesn't get too many free evenings. I did do 100 squats at work...in the dark...but that was it. We had great fun. I got Bean a new chew toy w/squeakers in it. He loves those! I'll just trade my Rest Days and work out tomorrow.
I hope you had a good day.

Nope you were right, no boxing. That was my suggestion for those of us who really should not do Jack's. Or just need a change from them. Joan might be able to help set up a link to the site for others to view. I wrote it all down. It of course will get easier as we know what we are doing. I added some of the jump squats into our challenge this morning. Wow, I am going to only be doing jump hops, LOL
Glad you , Sara, and Bean had fun last night. Squats in the dark? What, no rescue squad? Lol
Shelley0 -
...silent squats!!! bwahahahahaha!0
-
Hey are you doing your squats wide or more narrow? I have been doing mine wide, with toes pointed out. I think that has been the secret to my inner thighs toning.
And please come out of the dark. You are scaring me...........:P
Shelley0 -
Chris - silent squats? I'd never make it...I start moaning and groaning whenever I get to 25 the more I do the more noise I make. : )
Shelly - I liked the exercise, something different to shake things up a bit.
I am still here plodding along...finding I am getting more achey at night as we add more to the count. I'm not sore the next day so I'm still going.
Have a great evening ladies.

Jennifer - we would definitely have to send the Rescue Squad in for you! As for the achey part...my SO rubs Bengay on my back most nights...does wonders!
Shelley - It's pretty funny to watch people pass the door and not even realize I'm inside doing silent squats! I must contain my giggles! It's a riot!
I do narrow...feet are shoulder width apart. The wide stance with toes turned out does something to my knees...not good.
Got our challenge done along with 50 mins on other challenges and I walked 4.39 miles in 63 minutes. A very good evening!
Hope your Thursday was terrific!
Chris0 -
Jennifer you are cracking me up. You must sound like a zombie. LOL Chris you nailed it. Wonderful burns. I love your walks.
Well I did mine. All push- ups on my toes. I am doing 10-15 of them in a row now. Shaky at best in the end. :P
So any idea how to put the new challenge on here? Both actually, the full body one and then the ab one? I am looking forward to the change up. Oh, my legs no longer rub together! Just noticed that today! Wow.
Shelley0 -
Chris, you can actually see them passing by? And they don't even see you? LOL, how blind are people. They should notice movement at least.

Nopey, nope!0

Shelly - Click on HOME at the top left of our post, go to MARCH NO NONSENSE CHALLENGE. On the top, right there's a button...NEW TOPIC...click that. What you put in that block will be the prompt we need to click and post. That's the blue bar at the top of the page that says TOPIC REVIEW (Newest First): April 15 -- 21. I put in the month and days we would do the workout, so whatever you want ...say... May Ab Workout...then hit POST REPLY...Then you want to put the workout in the next block... post the workout the way we should do it then hit POST REPLY. You can edit it for up to an hour if there is something you want to change. You can have all the exercises in that first block with instructions to alternate them each week or you can create another TOPIC for the other set of exercises. OH...I don't think the TOPIC can be changed once you post it from what I remember, but I'm not real sure on that one. I hope that helps...I'm pretty new at this. ...stumble...splat!

Met our challenge, spent 50 minutes on other challenges and 30 minutes on Kelly Coffey-Meyer's Split Sessions - Lower Body workout. Bean and I walked 4.45 miles in 65 minutes. It was a good day!!
Have a great Friday ladies!

Well I worked on the other challenge just to see how it would go. Way more burpees than any of us probably want to do. So instead of saying 6-8 sets of 20 burpees, I will say do 1-3 sets of 20 burpees. That is still quite a few. I barely managed to hold the side planks for an entire minute. I did get 3 sets of the plyometrics squats done. I thought that would be enough for a first go. Let's see how my legs feel tomorrow. And also managed the first set of plyometrics lunges. I just walked the rest. And the arm exercisescwith weights were a nice addition. And I liked the stretch at the end.
Shelley0 -
Good job, Shelley, on the new challenge. I was stuck on the 6-8 sets of 20 burpees for the longest time...made my brain explode...so messy! Were the plyometrics squats and lunges the jumping squats and lunges? Side planks are hard. I haven't done any since I hurt my back muscle. I'm back doing everything else but that. She did the plank from her hand...not her forearm, right? I'll watch the video again.
I finished our challenge today, walked 4.18 miles w/Bean, and spent 50 mins on other challenges. I didn't do the 30DS or the Coffey-Meyer DVD.
We have Bean until tomorrow night. The kids went to Carmel for the weekend. He's such a great pup! A 60 pound pup!
Must hit the sack...spent!

I so could not remember which she did, forearm, hands. You are probably right. I was going to ask Joan if she wrote that part down. Yeah, them burpees are extreme. And they have them listed as beginner's! OK? Yes they are the jumping kind. I will have to work on them. Do you need help with cleaning that exploding gray matter? I am here for you. Lol. How about modifying the side planks to your knees? And of course modify the lunges and squats as needed. And with your other challenges feel free to NOT duplicate effort. It will burn you out.
60 pounds of puppy, LOL. So much energy. Great job on your workouts. I so wish my little guys could go that far. If I get two miles out of them I am happy. Let me know if you do watch it again, elbows or hands. With all the push ups I have been doing I might stick to the forearms just for a change. Lol
I did a forty minute walk with the boys today. Not sure if I feel up to anything else. Might just be a rest day and work on that change up.
Shelley0 -
Today is supposed to be a REST day. I took Wednesday off so I did our challenge today and 40 mins on other challenges and 4.34 miles in 62 mins. Half way through I dropped Bean off with Patrick. He's a black pup, and the sun was too much for him. I think it was 82 today, and we were out there around 2:00.
Shelley - I just use a dust pan and push the gray matter out into the garage. My sweet husband will just deposit it in the recycle bin!! Thank you for your kind offer of help.
I have another challenge with side planks. I did them on my forearms today. I'll see how my back is tomorrow. So far, so good. I always do our challenge first just in case I decide I'm done...bwahahah!
Well, must get ready for work tomorrow. Have a great evening!

Have a look at this ab exercise...http://www.thepostgame.com/blog/training-day/201304/move-carves-your-core
Don't know if I can do it, but I'll see tomorrow or the next day. Getting my hair cut tomorrow...not the usual schedule, she's working us in. I don't know what I'll get done tomorrow.

Well I checked, the center plank is on your forearms. I wrote it down this time. This challenge is supposed to take about 50 minutes if you do all the reps and suggested times. It will take most of us about 20-30 minutes at first. I for one will not be doing all the burpees. Lol. This can be added once or twice a week. Then add an an routine on another day, we can still do our current challenge 3-4days each week.
Chris, I will check out the ab site when I get a chance later.
Chris it is snowing here today. I want some warmer weather. But I know how Bean must of felt. Glad you cleaned up that mess though. Lol
Zumba tonight. I think I will cry if it gets cancelled.
Have a great Monday,
Shelley0
