Was up before 6 am just to get this done. I did two sets of this week's challenge. All push ups were done on my toes. I sweated a ton and wanted to take a nap before work. Lol, no nap for me. You know what? I just do not think it is getting any easier! What is with that? And the backs of my legs are just a little sore from the plyometric squats and lunges I did on Sunday. Not bad, but I know they are working.

I also did two sets of this weeks challenge and just when I thought I could handle the burpees there are five more to do! I was panting and sweating, but I did it all to the best of my ability. My burpees are looking springier and my push-ups are much stronger. It was a good workout even if I am crabbing about it. I was holding off on my walk until it cooled off outside. Maybe at 7:00. I did 60 mins of challenges. Maybe I'll take a nap!
Have a good Monday evening.

Ok ladies just adding a few more really got to me today. But I did it!
Chris - I watched that core video you suggested and tried it. It is pretty challenging and I don't think I have a slippery enough surface. I was able to get 2 small circles to the right...but only one on the left.
Shelley - still snowing...living in Florida I would be happy to see snow. Maybe not in the middle of April though. : )
Jennifer0 -
Hope you it your nap in Chris. Lol. Without seeing the one you suggested for abs I already know that unless one has a slippery floor they cannot do it. Glad the both of you got it done today. It was a great challenge.
So I will get off my lazy butt and come up with a challenging one. If I make it right it should take around five minutes. That way you can double it when time permits. That is the plan anyways. If anyone has a favorite an exercise tell me now. I will try and work favorites in. Why not, I so will put mine in. Lol.
Got my zumba in tonight. I was so glad to be able to get there. Stupid snow tried to ruin my day. But I think we are done with it now. Jennifer I lived in Florida for a year when I was in about the second grade. I still can sing the song we song in school! So I'll make my home in Florida where the Orange blossoms........do they still sing it in schools?
Shelley0 -
No nap...went out at 7:00 and walked until 8:00...got in my four miles; it was perfect. My favorite exercise is burpeeless! bwahahahahah! I just made that up! Okay, I know we must have burpees, so I like squats and mountain climbers.
Shelley, Glad you got to go to Zumba tonight. Can't imagine living in snow. I was born in California. We moved around until I was 10. My dad was in the Navy, but we came back to California. I've been here ever since.
Jennifer, I thought the exercise might be hard. I don't know if I can do it on my floors. I'll give it a try tomorrow and let you know. Just for fun! My two sisters live in Florida. One in Holt, the other in Graceville.
Have a good evening, you two!

I was an army brat, moved all over. I did our challenge with a twist to the squats. The second half I did lunges instead. Ouch! I have not done them much for awhile, so it was tough. I might just keep doing this way from now on.
Guess I will have to find time to look at that an exercise. I probably won't be able to before Friday.
I have lived without snow. I hate it at times. But love it also at times. I do love the four seasons. It just makes me not take spring for granted. If the snow would just stay off the road! Lol
Great walk Chris.
Gotta run
Shelley0 -
what exactly is a burpee???0

PM,ing her with the information.

It looks like today is my REST day...our hairdresser can cut our hair tonight. She's out of town this weekend when we would normally schedule it. Sara has hi-lights done so it takes a while. If we are back at a reasonable hour, I'll see what I can do.
Shelley...do you have your hands at your waist and twisting? When I was real little, we lived somewhere where it snowed...I remember making snowballs and putting them in the oven to save them for later. Mom was not happy!!
Stephalicious, welcome to our challenge!
Have a good evening, everyone.
Chris0 -
Snowballs in the oven, Oh my, that was good. I put a fish from a lake in the bathtub, I so did not know about chlorine!
I had to look back to see what you meant about twisting! Lol. Good one. Well going to bed, got yo zumba again tonight.
Have a great day. love high lights:)

Chris I'm all in for a burpee-less workout too. It's a shame they really workout the whole body. I might be on your side of the US this summer if I can fit it in.
The girls I work out with for my classes think I am crazy that I add this challenge to the end of my workout..so much so they are starting to join me. Most of them are 15 - 20 years younger than me and I might make them look bad. lol
I am also trying to get a group to start walking on Fridays. There are many different routes we can take with wide paths for the strollers. Several of us already walk... so why not walk together.
Shelley I'm looking forward to the new challenges and I am glad you are making it to Zumba!
Have a great day ladies.

Challenge for today complete!!
Shelley...I really thought you were putting a twist on the squat somehow. I tried to twist but almost fell on my fanny!!! I was wondering how you did it...then I read the post the way you meant it and, well... :blushing:
Good job getting a group together at work, Jennifer.
Today was really crazy and I ran out of time. I couldn't walk because it was too dark so I spent 45 minutes on the recumbent and did 17 miles in 45 mins. and spent 35 minutes on other challenges.
Must find my pillow now!
Chris0 -
I did not have time to get it done yesterday. Made my zumba class though.
My side of the US, well stop in.
I will post our challenge this weekend. And put in some suggestions for stretching and/or yoga. Feel free to interchange them two.
Chris you are cracking me up. Now I am wondering if we could. Lol. I suppose one could get in the horse stance ( squat) while doing the punches for the warm up. Lol, more squats. I might throw in some knee strikes with the punching, I took Tae Bo. Lol
Jennifer there is nothing more rewarding than besting the younger gals. So don't be to upset when I try and best you. Lol. Seriously though, it is a great feeling.
I am going to do our challenge tonight. Might do the new one to work out any kinks.
Shelley0 -
Here is a great site for the Arnold Press, type in Arnold Press on your search engine, and go into the one Building Muscle 101.com
You probably could go directly to the site, but I do not know how hard it is to navigate inside of it. This will be a test. LOL
It is in our new Challenge. So please look at it in advance. Works the Shoulders, front and side, secondary it works the Trapezius
and triceps. I love exercises that work more than one muscle group. This will make your upper neck and shoulder sore. So do your
stretches or yoga!
Shelley0 -
Well I finished the first round of the second challenge. It was a nice change. The rows, flys and twisted punches helped to stretch out some of my kinks. Took about half hour, but I had a couple of small interruptions. So not really positive there. I used my 7 pound weights. I will have to up them. But it was good just to get going. It will be a good idea to keep notes on what weights you use, and whether they were just right or need to be more. The planks were 30 seconds long, total of 4 sets. Nice place to start. Lunges are ten on each leg, repeat. It would be harder if you were to do 20 on each leg once. But it will change weekly.
Nite all, And please give input as we go along. I love this group.
Shelley0 -
Doing the second round already? Just trialing it out? I'll need to get on that! I'm in survival mode this month. Hopefully I'll be ready to join back in soon after I've rehabbed my knee and gotten my arms on their proper path (they need some pumping up!)
Good to see you gals still huffing it out...you are passing me by!0 -
Hi JoanB5, nice to see you! I know what it's like to have your knees yelling at you. It took me a good six months to finally get mine to where I could do my walking again. I'm very careful now. Don't want to be side-lined.
Shelly, I found The Arnold Press, saved it to my desktop and printed it. I'm ready! bwhahahaah! I like the sound of everything. Are we starting May 1st or April 28th?
I got my 4.35 miles done in 62 minutes and spent 20 minutes on our challenge and another 40 minutes on my other challenges. Now I just want to go to bed!
Talk to you all tomorrow!
Chris0 -
Joan yep, just ironing it out. Best way is to actually do it. You gals with knee issues be careful on the twisting punches and skip the lunges if necessary. Healing is best.
Hmm, I had not thought of that. But you are right. Best to start on a Monday or Sunday.
You all have been doing awesome. We are so ready for spring play.
Shelley0 -
Got our challenge done, and 40 minutes of other challenges, and 41 minutes on the recumbent bike for 12 miles...ask me if my legs are screamin'!!... and I'm going to get to the 30DS in a few minutes. Then I'm going to TARGET to buy a big fat pillow for my fanny to use on the recumbent bike seat...I don't care what they say about their seats being comfy and soft...they aren't, not by a long, long shot! Half way into the ride, my fanny hurt! If it could cry, it would!
Are we starting our new challenge Sunday? I can't do jumping lunges, but I can step and lunge. I'll 'you tube' the twisting punches and see what I need to do.
You are doing a pretty great job yourself, Shelley. Putting this together for us is very cool! Thank you!
I didn't get Bean today. Sara's BF got the day off, so he was with the pup. I'll get him tomorrow, though!!
Hope your Friday is grand! Mine has been pretty nice! I love the longer days.

Chris0 -
Aw, poor fanny! Lol, Look, you are doing so great Chris! That is a lot of challenges.. I got mine done early today. Have to put words to computer for everyone. Need to get our new challenge on for TOMORROW! I think we will start the week with the new one. We all have to be ready for a change. I did manage to do 15 push-ups before needing to fall on my face for a ten second rest. Lol
Everyone Ready? Then let's get started.
Shelley0 -
SO made me a real thick pillow! Happy fanny! Had Bean today and we did 2.5 miles in the sun then I brought him home. I did our challenge and 40 mins of my other challenges then 30DS L1 D2. My daughter came for Bean and we visited for a couple of hours and I did 12.0 miles on the recumbent after she left.
I am ready for tomorrow. I'll walk with Sara and Bean in the morning then do our new challenge so I'll be able to see what I'll spend on other workouts. I'm going to change them up too. Some of them are commitments and some aren't so I have to weed through them.
Shelley, I've been in that face-down position a number of times before...I had to be careful not to close my eyes and lay there too long...zzzzzzzz.
Hope your Saturday was terrific!
