Up early here, and off to work for the morning. Got in a 5K run yesterday with some good hills in it. I can feel it in my calves today. This afternoon I will either run or do a Jillian Michaels workout.

Have a good day all, just a quickie from me this morning!

Hey all!! I thought I checked in already, but guess not (too busy today to keep up with myself! haha).

Today I did part of my favorite 84min Fitness Blender workout. I did the warmup, a couple HIITs, the strength, and the abs.
This afternoon I did a LONG walk. 26min super fast, 24min normal fast, and 10min "leisurely". Unfortunately my predisposition for shinsplints is making running slightly tricky. I might need to get compression socks. Well, there's always walking and it always gives me great results. eeeek, my laptop battery's about to die! Gotta run, plug in. Oh, also did some HG challenge sets, more later.

    Happy New Week!

HI all, you may have noticed that I haven't really checked in on weekends, and it's because I've generally been bad about diet on saturday and sundays. My goal this week is to improve the quality and control the quantity of food I'm eating (especially on evenings and weekends) while maintaining (at least) last week's level of exercise. I hiked on Friday, took saturday off and ran 10 miles on Sunday. I felt really good about the run, but unfortunately saw no weightloss results due to consumption of pizza, chinese, diner breakfast and other items I'd rather not mention. Starting afresh today with the diet, but taking a recovery day for my legs. I may do some arms work tonight and possibly a walk, and I'm going for a run tomorrow. I know this group is about exercise, but I needed to vent about the diet.

@ctpeace: I feel ya! It seems that when we commit to this lifestyle, there is always a need for periodic adjustments...both in exercise and in eating style. It's all interconnected. We have to fuel our workouts with food, without sabotaging all our hard work. I am constantly questioning my eating, because the last thing I want to do is to sabotage all this working out! I could definitely do so much better, but I'm not totally eating junk, so for right now I think I might do a slight "cut" for a week or two, to get myself pumped up about healthier eating again. Good luck to you! Just remember all the hard work, before you put something "questionable" on your plate. ;-)

@steadybutsure: Good to hear from you and that you've been workin' out. I thought of you today when I noticed in a shop window, that my rearend is getting smaller...but not in a good way! It seems to be flattening out, like you reported about Loveth's derriere last month  . Noooooo!!! This is not at all what I had planned. Gonna hafta hit more squats and bridges!

@Dina: whoo! That's a great way to start the week!! Hit it wide open! :glasses:

Good Day Monday! Why did I get up this morning fussing at the guys about eating ALL of that homemade peach cobbler??:blushing: They could have at least left me the last corner! Oh well, I did get one serving early in the day on Sunday. Life's little pleasures are great to have sometimes.

P90X Kenpo X (kickboxing) done this morning and I skipped through some of the beginning stretches/warm-ups but ended with his cool-down phase. It was a 45 minute workout session this morning and felt great kicking something even though it was “air”…LOL!

Maureen: you are such the early bird and hope your day is going great. Did you run or do JM?

Ctpeace: balancing our nutrition and exercise is constantly a "work in progress" for some of us...I know it is for me and that is okay. Good luck with your fresh start with the diet this week!

    Dina: you are doing great!

Sherry: you are spinning faster than a "blender" with your fitness!!

Oh Pam, why'd you have to go and say "peach cobbler"?! I'm dying for some now! Maybe this weekend I'll have to go through my Granny's cookbooks which I inherited to see if I can find written in the blank pages her famous recipe. It was the best! I'll be dreaming about it tonight for sure! :)

Leaving for mini hike. I call it that because it's a advanced trail in the hills above my house for cross country skiing but this time of year great short hike with steep hills going up and down and takes about a hour.

5 min into trail you can't see anything but woods and spring flowers.

Hey everyone, late check-in for me. Road my bike 16.7 miles this evening, was aiming for 20 but my chain came off. I'm such a sissy, haven't learned any maintenance on it yet so had to call for a ride. It was so pretty out today, hope everyone else had some pretty weather today also.

Hi all! Today I did C25k which consisted of 16 minutes of run/jogging and 14 minutes of walking. I also walked home from my run using 4lb walking weights and did some bicept curls, etc. with them and did a short yoga/stretching session. I attempted to shoot targets with a bow and arrow today, but was too weak to hold the string tight. I definitely need to work on my upper body strength. Any at home suggestions?

Welcome Marla! That hike sounds beautiful! How nice to have that available so close to home!

Sheila: It definitely doesn't make you a sissy to not be able to do bicycle repair. My dad taught me how to retrack a chain...but with today's fancy bikes with a thousand gears, I'd definitely not be able to do it. Over 16 miles was a great ride!

Sammy: Archery is great! I guess push-ups would help...but also, just keep practicing with the bow. I took archery in college (also taught it to little girls at Summer camp) and loved it. I had to upgrade bows a couple times during the semester, because I got stronger doing it. Keep it up!

Toni: hope you get a restful night. Readya later! :)
