Tbh it's going to be a plunge rather than a swim, I give myself seconds before I start to think too cold! But I have to start acclimatising sometime :(

And stuff the calories, I get hot chocolate when I get out :)

Enjoy! I love ocean swimming, so many more adventures to be had in the sea compared to the pool.

So I dipped :) it was great! Temperature about 5 degrees, I stayed in for about 5 mins and deliberately let the water inside my wetsuit..brr, but actually swam around a bit. Lovely to get back in the sea. Doing it again this week and hoping to stay in a bit longer. I was a bit concerned after reading so much about hyperthermia that I probably verged too much on the side of caution!

My mistake. I thought you being Scottish would be crazy enough to do it without a wetsuit.

    So you're not completely crazy.

What temperture does the suit come off ?

    Still a good effort !!

I'm currently swimming in 18C and its pretty damn cold.

currently I have not done more than an in/out without a wetsuit even in the summer as most events require them so it seems silly to practice without..

Maybe you should try this swim. I suggested it to SwimtotheEnd but he bailed.
