I get my labs drawn on Saturday and go into see the (new doc) endocrinologist. My family doctor is the one who diagnosed me (long story) and put me on levothyroxine 25mg. I've been taking those for 6 weeks now. I'm not sure if it was placebo affect but it seemed like the second week I started getting energy back and my depression went away. But then after that, all my symptoms returned in full vengeance. I was training for a half marathon that is this weekend but had to give up a couple of weeks ago because my body couldn't handle all the training. My body was constantly sore and my muscles were weak. I would wake up (and still do) every morning like I got ran over by a train. I hate that this thyroid disease is messing up my goals!!

My question for you guys - is anyone else on a different med (like Armour) with T3 and T4? I'm thinking that might be better for my body/symptoms as I've read online. I just didn't know what anyone else was going through. It's getting really irritating. I'm so tired of being tired!! since giving up my half, I've reduced my running to maybe 3 days a week and only doing a walking/running for 2-3 miles and I'm still waking up completely exhausted!! I feel like my friends/family really don't understand what I'm going through :(

I'm on NatureThroid and it works SO much better. It better matches your natural hormone, and I've had much better results with it. I'm not at the point where I'm a bit Hyperthroid, which has NEVER happened before. With levothyroxine I kept having to increase my dose with no results.

I do not think you experienced a placebo effect. I think your body told you "Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! More please!!!!" . I never felt right with only T4. I definitely feel better with T3 added. I have no experience with Armor or any others but would love to learn more.

If you've had to cut down on your workouts be sure (no brainer, I know) you cut down on your calories because weight gain may further complicate getting your dosage correct.

Do anything you possibly can to get help/support so that you can keep active during this time. I know it is hard for others to understand what is going on with you but keep explaining. Some will get it and some won't. It is hard for family especially if you have been very active previously. It is a loss for them too but you need their help and understanding!
