Week 4 and losing motivation. Help!

I'm just finishing up week 4 and I'm losing motivation. I've missed a couple of workouts since starting, but have still powered through. With month 2 coming up soon, I feel myself starting to find excuses to not actually work out (I think I'm scared of month 2 since so many people have said its way harder).

For those of you who have made it to month 2 or have finished, how did you keep yourself motivated?!!

  • Don't give up your half way there! I just did my third fit test (day 1 of month 2) and still about died!! I use a couple things to motivate me. The first is that last year I tried insanity and made it through month 2 week 1 then quit and did not earn an insanity t-shirt. This year I AM going to get that shirt!! The second one is that when I started I weighed 270 and wore a 2xl shirt, I went to complete nutrition to get some supplements and they threw in a free shirt. The guy gave me an xl saying I looked like an xl!! I can't remember the last time I wore an xl shirt!! Now every Saturday I try on that shirt and notice that I'm going to be comfortable with myself wearing it out in public soon!

Set some short term goals for yourself as well as long term goals.

Keep pushing play you can do this!

I'm on Round 2, Month 1 and headed into Week #4. Month 2 is different....not necessarily more difficult. It IS longer however I didn't find it HARDER.....you just push through a longer workout. I take lots of pictures and try on clothes.....THAT motivates me to keep going. I also have foods I enjoy (frozen yogurt, gluten-free pretzels and popcorn) daily as a reward for those insane workouts, if I don't work out I can't "afford" them in my daily calorie counts. I did find my hunger went through the roof in Month 2 which is a direct correlation to the muscle mass you are creating and that was another amazing boost to keep going!!!

I hope you keep pressing play and enjoying Insanity as much as I do....I sometimes feel like I would love to sleep the extra hour in the am (5:30am comes really early some days) but I get up as my stuff is all set out (and I'm NOT putting it away if I didn't use it) and I do it and then feel awesome.....I have NEVER said..."Wow, I would have felt better staying in bed".....and I often say that to myself in those early moments when the alarm goes off

    Let's go y'allllll!!!!!

I agree that month two is not necessarily harder, just longer. I actually liked it;except Max Recovery....wasn't a fan. It seems like people lose motivation around this point because they aren't seeing results on the scale and they get discouraged. After month one, I felt like the only things smaller were my fingers and calves. But that's when I joined mfp and started reading posts from other Insaniacs and they all said the same thing: Week 6 is when the weight comes off and the biggest change is inches, not pounds. So I kept pushing play and they were right! One day my clothes fit and the next day they were falling off, that fast. And you have Recovery Week coming up, which I loved! I was able to see small changes during Recovery Week. I thought I'd get bored doing the same workout for a week straight, but I never did. Keep pushing play!
