Thinking of subbing out elliptical for the cardio DVD

I am mostly through the first week and before this, I did the first two phases of the 30 Day Shred (the third phase was surprisingly hard for me, so I figured I will try to redo that at a later date.)
I am now getting pain in the arch of my right foot that I have never felt before. Also, the DVDs seem to have reactivated my plantar fasciitis. I'm thinking this is from the plyometrics, which I have never done before the JM discs.
Tomorrow is the last Cardio day for week one, and I will try the disc again. I am just afraid for how the plyometrics will progress in the other discs, I don't want this to get worse and I will see a podiatrist if the arch pain doesn't go away.
On the bright side..I know I would burn more calories from doing an hour on the elliptical than the cardio disc, but she does some good moves that will work me in ways I wouldn't normally work myself.
Has anyone else had to sub out the cardio?
Can someone who has been through the entire Revolution program tell me if the plyometrics also start popping up in the strength discs? How bad do they get? Yes, at some point I will sit down and take a peek at them, but I thought I would ask.
Thanks!

Well, I discovered, (so far , anyway) that if I don't try to do the Cardio One disc more times than she says to..ergo: 2x a week, then my foot gets a chance to bounce back. So I will still try and squeeze some elliptical in here and there, since that isn't going to do anything too bad to it.0

I don't need to sub the cardio, but I choose to sub it fairly frequently to do some things that I like to do that give me just as good of a burn or more, just to keep it interesting.0

I subbed the cardio this whole time with my C25K Program. But yesterday I did the cardio for the first time (it was raining outside). The cardio wasn't that bad but I did pull a muscle in my back/hip area doing those stupid suicides. But my burn was good. I am just addicted to the c25k program right now. Nothing against the cardio. I think it is fine to sub it and do something different. Cardio is cardio right?
Good luck.0 -
I haven't been doing the cardio dvd's at all. Instead I go running outside now that it is nice out. I burn just as many if not more calories running than with the cardio dvd. (have a HRM)0

I'm in Week 10 and I haven't done a cardio DVD yet. I sub it with either the elliptical or running. I can't really say if that's helped or hurt me, but calorie burn is calorie burn.
As far the plyo...yes, it absolutely increases in the strength DVDs in the later phases. I don't have foot problems, but I've had knee problems in Phase 3. I've had to start modifying a lot by turning the jump moves into static ones and using heavier weights. That's helped and I still feel like I'm putting in a lot of work.0 -
Thanks for all the input everyone! I started reviewing the later cardio DVDs today..I think I will be ok with Phase Two cardio , but Phase 3 has some things in it I am dreading, lol. Hello, burpees.0
